one day fine-next day appendix surgery
Just came back home from three weeks of skiing. over night my stomach starts to hurt and 10 hours later i'm in the hospital having my appendix removed. Now i'm layed up for the next 2 weeks dealing with recovery. Shit could be a lot worse but at least i'm alright. can't wait to get back out on the slopes!

One of my kids had his appendix out over Christmas break. He woke up with a bad stomachache and ended up having surgery that evening. It was pretty painful for him. He was pretty bummed out because his Christmas present had been a kayak trip to Costa Rica. Of course, he didn't get to go.
I hope you feel better soon. My kid is four weeks post surgery. Although his stomach is still a little uncomfortable, he's starting to get back to normal.Keep it off my wave...Soundgarden

Good luck with the recovery.
I took out part of my small intestines a while ago, and the next day my surgeon told me "Oh, yeah, we took out your appendix while we were in there as well". Apprently it had some signs of previous infections or something, so it was a good idea to get rid of it.You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.

At least it didn't happen while you were out skiing somewhere in the boonies of B.C.
Having emergency surgery performed by some hillbilly doctor would be a scary thing.
Heal up fast!

He had laparoscopic, too. His abdomen was pretty sore for two weeks. They told him that he couldn't lift anything more than 20 pounds, kayak, or ski for a few weeks. He consoled himself by playing video games.

Not skiing related-more like sleeping related-anyways i'm in Calgary not banff-however I still live above you in Barff.
Blurred-just woke up with a sharp pain in my stomach-checked out some symptoms on the internet and diagnosed myself-headed to hospital told them what I had. They had some doctors and surgeons reconfirm it and then slapped me down in the operating room.
