5 years later, i am still using the same ti bars as in the video. they have probably bent over 1000 brakes in that time, and have no issue what so ever, not that i would ride them. but that more to the 22" width than anything

    just saying.

There's different types of aluminum. I'm using the bottom 18" from an old ski pole to tweak the SS rod on my "made from scratch" ski brake arms. But that stuff bends easier than what you are working on. Wheels, stop over for some Shutt's Apple Mill cider (the champagne of ciders)and we can give it a go in my shop next time.

Bump. How do I bend these? From Rossi axiom scratch 200. Maybe I’m thinking about it wrong, but I can’t figure out how to get my little bench vice to hold tight enough or the vice is clamping onto plastic, which looks like it’ll break. I feel like I’m not thinking it through correctly.
    Thanks

Grab the brake arm on on the pad side but close to the bend with ViseGrips. Secure the handle of the Visegrips in a vise and bend. I tried bending older silver Tyrolia brakes and they snapped instead of bending.

Based on what I've read here Tyrolia brakes will likely snap where one thinks they should bend

I usually squeeze the brakes and pop the plastic mounting plate off and then put it in the vise. While putting the plastic back on I usually cuss a lot.
