Thumbs up Nike+ i-pod running gizmo

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...715675-1474854

Not a bad little product. Take a look at the Amazon link above, some dude wrote a pretty comprehensive review of it.

I received this for Christmas and was pretty psyched about it following my first run today. I do *not* have the special Nike+ shoes (which I've heard, aren't very good running shoes) but read that you can stick the pod in a "shoe wallet" and it works just fine. That was my experience... I did my normal loop here which I've mapped out on http://www.usatf.org/routes/ and found the distance to be pretty accurate. I didn't do much playing with it yet, but the out-of-the box ease was key.

Take away message? If you run with your i-pod... get this.. it is so cheap that it just makes sense... AND don't worry about the shoes. Get a little shoe wallet, and you're golden.

Equalon+ and Moto+ are both quality running shoes (if they fit and you don't need any motion control to speak of). The Moire's look like they may be decent for some people too. Shox are generally crappy, IMO, though there are exceptions.

I hadn't heard about the wallet gizmo.

edit: did some googling...podophile.com has some good info on this. Interesting the stuff Nike doesn't tell you.

The new Structure Triax 10 is "+" capable and a great shoe if you need the stability.
