"Boogie Nights" fans - help me

I just rented it from Netflix, and I could swear that this movie was changed from the theatrical version. Still good, but different. Am I right?
This is the thing that bugs me about DVDs. I gives the director a chance for a revised final cut. Which is cool, just tell me.

9 additional scenes were restored on the DVD. The internet Movie DataBase knows the answer to most of your movie questions.

hmmmmm....."Some smaller sub-plots, NOT included in the DVD were filmed for the movie, but didn't make it to the final version, or DVD deleted scenes. - A scene in which Alfred Molina's character (Rahad) runs back to the house after chasing Dirk and Reed with the gun. Cosmo has been shot, and is dead. Helicopters circle, and he is actually happy he gets to use his firepower. He exchanges shots with cops, and ultimately dies in the confrontation."

yeah, that makes sense. I always thought it was a bit off when they have that "confrontation", and the dude just walks back to his house.

But the DVD is missing one long track shot (it has many) in the beginning of Burt Reynolds walking from his car through his house. The dude loved track shots.

edit: Check out "Wonderland" on IFC tomorrow morning or rent it. Whole different perspective on that John Holmes thing. Val Kilmer as John Holmes.
