TR: And so it begins... December pow in Whistler

Yesterday Atrain505 and I braved gale-force winds and chairlifts crawling at a slower rate than a geriatric ant, to shred some windblown pow. Wet conditions allowed for only 1 photo from yesterday:

Note the bright blue bases on Athan's prototype 192 pmgear fatty bros:

    Today started greybird:

But then the sun came for a visit, and we hit Chainsaw ridge in full force (after some first tracks down Spanky's and Glacier Bowl, of course:

(By the way, I dropped first, so naturally I got better turns... cough, cough.)

Athan going mach turkey- I won't show the other shots, there was a potential speed-related skisplosion... he pulled it together:

This is not the end.... there is much more snow on the way, therefore, more pictures too. Thankyouforyourtime.

how long did you have to wait at the spankys ladder to get the first turns? after finding out that it might take another 1/2 hour to open it we went up to Chimney instead...but ruby bowl was so nice today, fraggle rock had the best snow though...

I don't believe you. 1. By the time you get to fraggle rock, the elevation in there made for manky snow. 2. Ruby bowl is alright, but gets skied out way too quickly.

We did a lap through Glacier Bowl, then by the time we got back up top they dropped the rope on Spanky's and got freshies all the way down Diamond Bowl. Had a fun time watching our buddies make the mistake of hitting the Sapphire straightline which definitely doesn't have enough coverage yet.

Yeah today rocked! I was over on Whistler and had 9th chair up the Peak. The ski patrolers were real bastards about it though, telling us 20 minutes... which turned into about an 1 hour and a half. Whistler Bowl was like heli-skiing though (not that I've ever done that... but I can imagine) and well worth it.

    Good day for sure.

Really? Spanky's and the top of the Crystal chair are only about 300 m different in elevation.

Droooool. That drop looks money (if you could get enough speed). What's the verdict? Don't spoil my fantasy!

By the way, Atrain's outfit looks steeeeeeezy.
