    "Wake up" archived threads?

Every once in a while something comes up that an archived thread references and the old thread would be relevant and funny if it could be brought back to life. Is this possible or am I just a dork?

Both could be true too, I suppose.

    Incoherent, too.

Are you talking about the case where a new thread references an archived thread? 'Cuz that's not quite what you said.

Assuming that's what you mean, do you want the reference to automatically resurrect the archived thread? That might be kinda hard to implement.

I'm normally fairly coherent, sorry. What I meant was could you make it possible to post a reply to an archived thread so that the thread comes back to the front page. Is that clearer?

And my guess is "no, we can't do that".

    But I was just wondering.

    I get it now.

After a cursory investigation by me, it looks like the answer is "no, we can't do that."

    At least not anytime soon.
