    Utards: Avie in Silver Fork

Hopefully no maggots up there. Not a whole lot of information at the moment.

(KSL News) -- An avalanche has trapped at least two people in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

They were in upper Silver Fork Canyon, near Solitude. All are accounted for, but one was injured in the snowslide.

Crews are using a rescue helicopter with a hoist to bring that person off the mountain.

We have a crew on the way and will bring you more information when it becomes available.

Edit: Looks like RB beat me to it.

I can't speak for LCC, but in Park City last night it rained for a bit before the snow came. Theres a substantial icy crust underneath the 4-5" that we got up there.

Looks like its gonna be a while before the next storm cycle too, and it'll be warm and sunny until then. Seems like we're gonna need some rapid fire storms with weather that stays cold for the snowpack to stabilize.

avie victim was good friend, fellow maggot and photog Steve Lloyd. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Apparently was buried for 15 min. when dug out and revived by Jason West. Please be careful out there...

I heard a patroller at the Bird was buried up to his chest while doing control work today. Does anyone know any more information? There sure were a lot of bombs going off up here at Alta today. Stay safe out there.

Xover was there with them as well, so he's with all of them at the U of U hospital.

We tried calling X, but got no answer. I did talk to Jason West's wife and she said she doesn't know much but she does know they are alive.

Hopefully we'll get X on the phone soon.

No rain out at the shack in the Uintas. Almost a foot on the ground this morning ~7K. Wind not too bad down low, but loading was visible on the ridgelines. Hope Steve is OK.
