TR; this last weekend at Bridger

Saturday, so here we go after a little confusion. woke up early and got to bridger at 7:45. hiked up PK and got slowed down close to the top. made three laps on the fingers and south boundary with great conditions. Blazing trail up the fingers for the first of the season. fresh track on EVERYTHING. here we go.
    Saturday's lineup
    Looking down the third finger

Clarf at the top of fingers

    Clarf on south boundary

    bubba-k rippin

Got up early and our crew of 5 blazed trail to the top of the ridge in knee to waist deep blower. then we decided to traverse all the way to south boundary and ski the jobs and south boundary. EXTREMELY sketchy hike, it was insane at times.
    Sunday's line up
Looking at Sac from the top

Looking at the Crazies from South Boundary

everyone sitting at South Boundary eating lunch

FZ decided to ski Job 1
    Clarf skied Job 2
Sam, Matt, and I decided to ski South boundary
    Great snow had by all!

Clarf and i woke up this morning at 5:30 and meet Leroy Jenkins came over. headed up to the mountain after dicking around.
    early bird gets the nose

this is Clarf, Blue Bombastic on his back again. possibly has not come off since birth.

Leroy skining but finding out since Clarf and i had made the bootpack a day earlier it was a bombproof SOB.

David showing us how to turn

    Clarf, slash turn 101

Clarf and mine tracks down whirlpools

Leroy after a cliff coming out.

Sam is the captian of the Blazing Trail club, Honorary Mention Clarf.
All in all this weekend was amazing considering it is still October!

Awesome day, and great to meet you guys.

Looks like you had some fun over the weekend as well.

I dont' have any action shots, but took a couple decent scenics, I'll post em up when I get a chance.

Oh, and Lars, I wasn't going crazy, I went to the doctor today and I have some mystery respitory illness. Fucking sweet. Oh well, might just have to take a break for a few days and rest. With a start like this, somehow I think there might be a few good days later in the season too.

Nice fucking work man! Good to see some stoke from Montana.

Does anyone ever ski Sacajawea? It seemed like a pretty dope run when I hiked it this past summer. The only problem is getting there I guess; a sled would be required.

Yes. There are some huge lines out there too... the northern bridgers are often referred to as mini alaska. Expect some TR's this year for sure. Access can be tough without a sled, seeing as the road to fairy lake is closed when we get some decent snow.

my crew is deffinently hitting those up once thy fill in. i beleive it was scott schmit or dogg coombs that said it was the best skiing they have skied in the lower 48. no sleds needed, skins, a tarp, and some shovels man, were in montana.
quick google search came up with http://www.montana.edu/bcridingclub/Frazier%20lines.JPG

Yeah, access can be rough in the summer too... if your driving in a Nissan 240sx with 5 inches of clearanse. One hell of a ride.

God damn... I really want to come back out here for winter break.

The skiing is shitty in the Northern Bridgers. Nothing to see out there. I would go to Hylite. Workinforturns this weekend was the shit. Great to see you back on skis.

That doesn't get plowed at all, right? How far can you make it up the canyon before needing sleds?

    Wish i was there

As Lars's (workinforturns) former high school teacher I have two things to say:

    1. I am jealous- it is fun to see you cut your teeth on the same lines that i did as a college student.

    2. Your english and use of metephors is atrocious- what would your assistant principal for a mother say?

Remember- Big rocks don't move! Go around them this year!

    Happy tracks

the ice climbers usually keep the road pretty well punched in. you will need good clearance and 4wd, but it is usually possible to reach at least the reservoir all winter.

    Damn, I miss the Bridgers.

How deep is the snowpack up high? I would think traversing into Job 1 would be an issue this early in the season.
