Steps to screw up what would have been a great Saturday AM ride:

1) Drink too much the night before and agree to a 7:30 am meeting at trailhead
2) Wake up at 7:15 for perviously mentioned meeting time
3) Call riding partner rapidly to explain that you'll be "10 minutes" late
4) 1 minute later walk down to basement and notice that you have no chain lube and your tire is flat.
5) Aw f' it to the chain lube and quickly pump up tire hoping its a slow leak
6) Walk outside and realize it's ~32* while wearing shorts... (forget that all your ski wear is within feet of the the door)
7) Make it to the trailhead 15 minutes after the "10 minutes" late time.
8) Haul ass trying to catch said partner who left w/o your lying ass
9) Finally catch riding partner and piss off 10 or so hunters in the process (Note to self, maybe I should start riding w/ Blaze Orange helmet/jacket)
10) Enjoy ride until a rock garden snaps your derailleur hanger completely off at the furthest point from trailhead.
11) Start doing a Single speed conversion to find out that you can't get the stupid Shimano pin back in after shortening it and realize why you need SRAM powerlink and give up.
12) Walk back to trailhead....

Oh well still had fun for the few miles of nice fall single track. I also had fun attempting running cross mounts (w/o nutting myself) to gain momentum for downhill sections chain-less. Now i've just got to order a new hanger and buy a few powerlinks... oh and some chain lube.
