Bacon, fire, and power tools: Ullr Fest 2006
Well, Ullr Fest 2006 was a successful endeavor. A bottle of Patron was consumed, stuff was set on fire, and Sprite has some new lawn furniture.
I was first to arrive on the scene Friday afternoon. Despite sketchy weather the entire drive to Ludlow, by the time Train07 showed up the skies cleared up enough for us to do a fast hour spin on our road bikes. We returned to find Tacoma Luv making herself at home, sans the rest of the Columbia U chess team, who apparently don't think that setting shit on fire while eating and drinking constitutes a fun way to spend an autumn weekend.
We consumed a few post ride beers, and headed up to the emo acees road to hit a local eating and drinking establishment. While consuming several beers and some meat and ptato products, we were joined by Bluebird, bumpskier, and Bushwhacker PA, who won the road dog award by traveliing all the way from Pittsburgh to attend the festivities. When I got word from prite that she was in the house, we headed down the mountain.
We proceeded to drink more, eat more, and watch some ski and MTB porn. Steve and family showed up, and his 2.5 year old future big mountain charger was entertaining to us all. Due to an overabundance of mattresses and FKNA cold ass weather, everyone decided to sleep inside instead of camp out, so nobody was cold.
Despite some grey skies and fog the next AM, the sky became blue- after we ate the appropriate quantity of bacon. We began to enjoy ourselves outside. Myself, Sprite, Train, and BWPA took a short ride around the property behind the Spritehouse.
Train and Sprite in the woods.
Train and I than took off for a two hur ride, which did not include the pit stop at the Long Trail brewery to refuel. It was probably the best ride I have had all year, after all of my setbacks it felt great to be back. Upon arrival back to the house, I took myhaunted K2's and modified them appropro for the evening sacrifice.
After that, more mags and Kzoners began to arrive, and well, since a picture is worth 1000 words, here:
Train and Sprite begin to build the ski chair
Trayc and Mtn. Man with a bottle of cheer
FR:Sprite, Taco Luv, Myn. Man; CTR: rightcoast, Trayc, bushwhacker, Pakespear, train07 bumpskier, bluebird; back: some K-zoner, Mr. Snowsprite
Trayc feeding bucshwhacker some cheez whiz. Moments later he passed out. We decided tha the youngest peson at the party shouldn't be the first to pass out, but or efforts to remove him from the bed were unsuccessful.
The finished ski chair

Had to read this twice......give this boy two Long Trails and some jualapeno poppers and he will dust yo ass for the next twenty miles. That was special Plakes
Big special thanks to bumpskier, again, for planting the seed to do something constructive with the old skis and to bluebird for jumping in at just the right moment.
Ahh, and Spritesita.... our Spritesita cut ALL of the wood and did more drilling and screwing than any of us. This girl is good!
A great party....which I experienced mostly from the garage but I could tell it was a great party
edit...for rightcoast jumping in on chair at the perfect moment also...thanks dude...and to porno for removing the bindings and the loan of helmet...big thanksLast edited by train07; 10-01-2006 at 07:17 PM.

Hehe, a good time was had by all. Plakes made the sacrifice to Ullr, hopefully my taping turned out OK. Many thanks to Sprite and Token for a rockin' party and to Plakes for the many shots of Patron! We sacrificed Trayc with a Goombay at K before arriving at Sprites, it should be a good year now. Great to see maggot/kzoner crews celebrating the beginning of an awesome season!!!

Edit: Did I mention 9+ lbs of bacon were consumed over the last couple days??? Another pow day of baconLast edited by Mtn Man; 10-01-2006 at 06:29 PM.

Glad to see everyone had a great time. Sorry I missed y'all, I was at a wedding raising hell. The picture below should give you some help on the ridiculous things this event involved.
PS - Anyone want a moustache ride.

Plakes, it was great to finally meet you (and nice TR) and great to meet a bunch of other TGR'ers.
Yes, as always Sprite and hubby hosted a greated party again!
So, I guess I have to stop being such a lurker (and stop posting most of my posts on the Gimp Central). And Trayc, thanks for drinking the Goombay. The KZoners are very happy. Nice to ride with you Trayc and TacomaLuv.
Again, great to meet all of you.
As soon as I figure out how to post photos on this forum, I will (webshots just keeps giving me thumnails ).Last edited by Skibumtress; 10-01-2006 at 07:04 PM.

Very sorry to have missed the fest! I hoped that I could have hooked up w/ Bushwacker and made the trip up, but work had other plans for me. Looks like it was a blast - way to represent, EC mags!
