Question for the field: would you rather have someone on the jury who doesn't want to be there or someone who really does?
I don't do jury trials, so don't really get the nuance, but my gut would say what every lawyer always says, it depends. If I had a complex case and understanding my client's arguments required attention to detail, I'd want the juror who wanted to be there. If, otoh, a superficial view of the case was favorable to my client, I'd want the person who didn't want to serve.
