    TR: Powder and Clouds 9.23.06

Kristin and I left the county at about 7. The snow had stopped down in town but it was still snowing lightly at the tunnel. We met up with Jeff in Plume and headed up. We arrived at the mine at about 8 and started out drive up the road. Both Jeeps made it up to the high basin with few problems. Surprisingly, we were the first skiers up there. As we geared up Eb and Ryan pulled in next to us. There was 15" on the road in the trees and 40" drifts up high.

    The Creek down low.

    The Creek up high.

    Ebs first run since Argentina.

    Kristin's Turn.

    Jeff.

After the first run we were engulfed by a huge group skiing and snowboarding down the main gully under the big cornice. There was alot of near disasters but everyone made it. We decided to get away from the crowd, so we set out for the long line (1000') one gully to the south.

The snow here was deeper and less wind effected than the first line.

    Kristin.

    Eb.

    Next stop, Dairy King.

    Down the road.

That's funny. I'm not sure, we passed the infamous Element on our way down.

Bah, we REALLY should have skied there today... Let fine young tail lead us astray to ski mashed potatoes/glop (but it was still very fun).
