just started getting them. I think there's a new banner ad that requires some extra plug-in or something.

The Active-X message makes me think I got a PM - then the disappointment sets in - "oh, guess not."

It really is a pain in the ass.IE had this to say...

Why does Internet Explorer block the use of some ActiveX controls?
Internet Explorer blocks a Web site from using an ActiveX control on your computer if the Web site tries to use the control in a way that it is not designed to be used. You should leave the Web site immediately.

In this case you will see the message below—click the text below for more information.

"Internet Explorer has blocked this site from using an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner. As a result this page may not display correctly."

This message appears when a Web site tries to access an ActiveX control on your computer using a method that is not safe for that particular control. Usually this means that the Web site is using a script (a small computer program) to access an ActiveX control that is not safe for scripting. Internet Explorer will block this action. To avoid possible damage to your computer, you should not try to work around this. You should leave the Web site.

Access codes to my bank account will probably buy you a foot long at Subway.
