I doubt that you are the only one, but probably one of the few. The music is absolutely perfect for the style of skiing and hearing Dr. Snow talk makes the movie even better.

Must see this movie for myself.

Judging from other threads and from other maggots, seems to be people who love it and others.... not so much. To some degree, I think Immersion got the same kind of reviews.

Have to watch it and judge for myself.

Broke down finally and bought it. Hope it's as good as all of your recommendations, couldn't afford the box, but it looks cool.

hopefully, it's not getting over-hyped to the point that it can only dissapoint. this is a really mellow, soulful kind of movie and it's short. like immersion... you'll probably really like it, or... not so much.

If you liked Immersion, you'll love this. Quiet soundtrack, deep powder, no corporate sponsors. If you prefer movies like SMIII, then you may be a bit dissapointed, either way its got soul, and represents what our sport is all about.
And I'm not trying to hype up this movie, I was merely stating how new and fresh it was and how great a guy Bill is. However, if Bill sells more copies because of this thread, than thats good to.

Agreed. Folks should be warned that it's short (<30min?), mellow, and contains few (if any) rowdy lines, jaw-dropping hucks, or unattainable peaks. It ain't ski porn.

Thats right, it is not ski porn, it is the antithesis of ski porn, it is ski art. This film is truly a masterpiece. That is all.

... it's one of those that doesn't really impress you too much the first time, but then you find yourself hummin' the tunes from it and just have to watch it again - then your hooked; you see something more special everytime you watch it

... truly soulful with some of the best pow footy

... everytime I watch it, I am transported to Alta's super-light (even though it was shot at Whitewater) and the special feeling it gives me from riding IN it

.... if Dolores LaChapelle wasn't such a biaaaaaaaaaaatch and made a movie about skiing - this is a close as I've seen to what she would create

... nothing like riding pow with your buds and joking around doing it

... plus the cinematography is surreal

... the old man makes me lol too

... Bill Heath is a maggot even if he don't know it

Just got it this afternoon. Xover summed it almost perfectly. The first watch I didn't know what to think....it is pretty short.

I watched again tonight and really fell into it. The music sucks you in and the imagery is mesmerizing. This is a perfect film to pop in and just disconnect for a bit.

Hey, anybody know where to get Pororoca?

I watched the movie between studying for various final exams this week, and I have to say, it is a refreshing and soul soothing break from the hectic bullsh!t of everyday life. No other ski movie, with the possible exception of Immersion makes me feel that way. Sure, the lines are not gonna make you shit your pants but the storm shots, the music and the quality of the cinematography makes me dream of winter and deep, deep days in the woods with good friends. There will be people who don't like this film, and there are times when I watch full on ski porn instead; however, nothing makes me feel as good as this beauty.

the HoShow, a non-mag Rockstar and I were coming back from climbing at Brian Head last monday and I pop in Josh Ritter; the HoShow immediately says "hey, I've heard this before" - I say ya in sinners. he says I didn't like that flick; I say ya gotta watch it again - it is one of those rare classics where it just keeps getting better the more you watch it

best powder skiing in a movie i've ever seen. it just screams SOUL at ya. finally a ski movie w/o all the all too common cliff hucking flippy spinny jibby straightline heli-access shit and just straight up smiling and skiing among friends. the powder bliss grins in that flick are just priceless.

Thumbs up thanks for the heads up

I too give Bill a big thumbs up too for being so cool .
I'll take the first words about sick pow footage and get me to the store for a purchase.

Although, after my best run ever captured on film, I looked over at Bill with a big pile of film laying on the snow and thought, "Oh shit...I hope he got that!"
    dooohhh, he didn't....

Guess you'll have to find another best run ever, and hopefully the guy behind the camera is ready for ya.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, this movie makes me wanna move to Whitewater tonight.

    The highest temples

Satan is skillful but he cannot reach the highest temples. -Reggae quote

I was lucky enough to get the raw footage that Bill shot for WM on the one trip I went on with them. I get a chance to re-edit and examine Bill's handywork. We spent 2 weeks around the highest peak in NZ and I'm gagging on all the EPIC scenery, glaciers, and places that only few have ever laid eyes on.

    BOTTOM LINE:
Skiing takes you places, to the greatest places on earth! and the people who go to these isolated vistas dance in natures finest element. They give thanks and praises to the most high.
Bill has gone a step furthur by capturing these views.
    God bless him....

I can't wait to bump this soon with my re-edit. Some of you will gag too...

School is hard this year for me. I'm doing well and working hard, but it seems to be in vain, something is missing; maybe it's a girlfriend, maybe its any person who truly understands who I am and that I don't look at things like most teenagers do, maybe it's something else altogether. After 3 weeks of 6 day a week classes, I finally have a 2 day weekend. Just popped in Sinners for about the 125th time and finished watching it. No matter how many times I see it, this movie calms, recharges and rejuvenates my soul. Listening to the music and seeing the images of deep, deep powder and fat flakes falling takes me away to that place that exsists just out of reach.

The proverbial Shangri-La is out there for me to find, but not yet, not with school, studying, trying to find friends who I can honestly relate to, and a girlfriend who understands me and my addiction to winter. Sooner or later I will come to my Utopia, God willing it will be sooner, but who really knows? Until then, this movie brings me as close as I can get to that special place being 15 and living in New Jersey.
