Someone here has a Sandy Vagina
I’ve thought about retiring there but the summers sound insufferableKill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

Who had the coldest over night temp? I had 38f.
Who resists seasonal change over and just leaves the ski boots in the same place 365?

Had a 38 degree night at 9300' last week. Skunk cabbage is starting to brown, flowers are going away, people are starting to harvest firewood and predicted low temps are in the high 30s all next week. Up high the turn is starting to happen whether or not people want it.

^^^ Ha, yeah, I still have one pair of skis in the rack by the front door.
It feels like a turn here just because of the tourists. Arts festival was last weekend, and that unofficially marks the end of high summer season. The 2nd home owners start heading back to TX and school, there's only one more free outdoor concert, etc. Things finally go from batshit crazy to just regular crazy busy.

Schools are all starting up soon or have already started up. That’s always my sign of the initial turn.

I was literally going to say the same thing.
I live in Japan and have never even met either of you. But MTM... WTF, dude? Why do you always push his buttons? What are you projecting? What are you trying to overcome?
Hey, Buzz... the rest of us are cool. Or, normal.

Its dark at 5am and dark at 9:30pm which is perfect for me. It help with sleeping and campfires when its light out just aren't the same.
And it is pissing rain and 50f in Fraser. That hasn't happened in a few months.

This thread was started on August 3rd.
I don't get why some are saying August is too early.
I think the turn is more about the night time temp for me. It was hot a few days ago and it can be hot at night in Aug for sure. But the consistently hot all the time usually breaks some time in Aug, and that's what I thought the thread was about in 2006...

In the southern rockies it’s August for me too. Sure the high country may get snow in June or July. But August is when the days start becoming noticeably shorter, plants begin wrapping up for the season, night lows begin to drop.
September will be hot, and November may be dry, but the turn begins in August here.

A polar vortex oscillation is in the works but more importantly pumpkin spice latte season nears.

I saw signs posted around town advertising that Spirits of Halloween is hiring. If that's not the Turn I don't know what is.

Every day turns just a bit. Proclaiming "The Turn" is manifest is arrogant pig poop.

BYates gets it. The turn is when the leaves start turning brown. I'm surrounded by big deciduous trees, and haven't taken the rake out of the shed once.
