Wife is now asking to turn the heat on.

I'm still holding out but I can't fight it much longer.

The heat went on a little. I saw snow in the high peaks. Under the clouds. It real cooled off. Must be our week of Fall. Come on winter! Other than waking up in the dark, I'm ready.
    No longer stuck.

    NWS agrees with Cliff.

A CHANGE TO WET AND COOLER WEATHER IS IN STORE FOR WESTERN
    WASHINGTON THIS UPCOMING WEEK...

A series of storms will bring much needed rain to Western
Washington starting Sunday. At this time, it appeared that the
heaviest rains will occur with the Monday and midweek storms.
Some places, especially on the coast and in the mountains, will
receive over an inch of rain from each of these storms. The amount
of rain expected will be the most we have received since late
    spring.

Expect a cold front to sweep across the area late Sunday and
usher in a colder air mass. Snow levels will fall into the 4500 to
5500 foot range by Monday morning.
    Anticipate the snow levels to
generally remain in this range through the midweek. This will
result in snow accumulations, mainly above the 5000 foot level.

Alright, so it's "officially" the turn now for the Rockies. Time to head back, the beach has been fun.

Southbound geese are starting to show up in the Sierra. I saw at least a half-dozen Vs yesterday.

the beach will remain more fun for at least another 4-6 weeks and probably more like 8-12.

From one of them knuckle dragging climate denier sites:

“Lake Tahoe had its first snowfall of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 13,” says steamboattoday.com/.

“Kirkwood Mountain Resort reported around 3 to 4 inches of wet snow early in the morning. The resort’s base is at 7,800 feet.

“Sierra-at-Tahoe, located at 8,800 feet, also reported snow.”

Thanks. I don't understand why I can't find this thread with Search. Anyway, the search function here sucks. Regardless, from yet another thread with the same title...

While we still have heavy smoke in the air and the thermometer is forecasted to hit 98 Thursday, I'm feeling some sense of The Turn. Out mountain biking yesterday, I noticed that sense of fall with a little cooler temps and daylight fading faster. This morning, outside our house was 51 which is about 10-15 degrees cooler than it's been for a while. It wasn't as light in the morning when I got up and there are some geese hanging around that I've not seen since their migration north in the spring. And I had my first skiing dream over the weekend, always a good sign. Yep, I think it's starting to turn. Bring it; I'm sick of the heat and smoke.

    Interesting timing here.

Been keeping the windows open to the bedroom at night, and this morning was the first time since May that I felt the cold bite during wake-up.

While we're waiting on that "back-breaking storm front" to signal the coming end of summer, the mind is starting to look ahead.

No where close to the turn in So Cal. Just praying by mid September that things start to cool down.

no sign of a turn here. just constant sweat. 3 showers/6 t-shirts a day. either that or freezing in ACed offices. I'll just keep sweating and skating. not bored of that yet.

Mounted up my old pair of Deathwish's with demo bindings to use as rock skis or for guests that want to experience TC. Two sets of brakes delivered yesterday, two sets of skis today and new Deathwish were shipped today. Oh yea, its dark when I get up in the morning.

On Saturday it cooled down to mid 70s and all the smoke got pushed out. Smelled like fall in the early AM
Now we’re back to low 90s and air quality level of “LA Basin during summer inversion”.

ETA: air quality is now at “Beijing” as of 20:20 hrs pdt
