Back in the Midwest the Turn is typically heralded by several days of rain in late August. Hemingway wrote a story called "Three Day Rain" in which a young man living on Walloon Lake in the upper LP of Michigan breaks up with his girlfriend during such a rain. I read the story during a 3 day rain at Walloon Lake, where I was teaching sailing for the summer and where I had just broken up with my girlfriend. (Walloon Lake is where Hemingway's family had a cottage; it is located near Lake Charlevoix at the 5th metacarpal head.)

Oh please, granted it was kind of a timid winter in VT this past year I kept one of my bedroom windows open throughout. My room was always about 20-30 degrees colder than the rest of the house, my roommates didn't know I was racking up the heat bill though.

Breckenridge is forecasted for showers this weekend and lows of 28, definite possibility of snow on the peaks.

Went out for a skate last night, had to go back in and grab a sweater. It's something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Started to shave my balls so the quick wind doesn't cause my sack to hike up when I'm resting.

There's nothing quite like a shorn scrotum. It's breathtaking, really.

It really is timeless. It's amazing how many of us think of this thread and "the turn" when we start to feel it.

Felt it a month ago, but it's back now, and with some permanence. Cool walk to work, overcast skies, last summer plans, hints of a cool storm forecast for high on Rainier.... It's almost time for the early autumn romps on sunny granite and dunite with red heather all about. When the dark and windy storms of October make themselves known, the Turn will be complete. So stoked for the change.

The best seasons of the year are just around the corner. May we all have joyful seasons shared with family and friends.

Wow, you lucky fucks. While I am not complaining about the weather in So Cal (it has been damn nice the last week) we could still shoot up to 100 degrees anytime in September, so not yet, but it is coming.
