    Thumbs up

Hadn't seen that one. Nicely done. I like the way it gave equal props to Emily also.

Still makes me sad to think that Doug is gone. Five years have passed and all of us who knew the man wish that day in LaGrave had gone differently -- both for him and for Chad. We'd shared so much fun already and there were so many good times yet to be had.

Theo will be doing the annual remembrance up at Alaska Rendezvous Guides HQ at milepost 45.6 on the Richardson Hwy tonight. Wish I could be there to stare into the bonfire and share the memories (and too many drinks) with the Thompson Pass crew. I am there in spirit.

Big hugs to all of you who knew and loved Doug.

^^^ That first line is one of my favorites. I love the segments of Doug ripping AK lines with a big ol guide pack.

RIP DC, he left behind a huge inspiration to a whole generation of Bridger skiers; and a whole generation of Jackson skiers, and AK guys, and La grave, you've lit the fire for more than you can imagine

Doug Coombs skied every one of his lines just how I imagine myself skiing as I sit at the top of everyone of mine. His inspiration lives on.
Keep your tips up and always remember to unhook your pack from the chair...

Wild NICE STOKE on that clip. I get butterflies from some of those lines...

One of the strongest riders I have ever seen without a doubt. Dude induced so much stoke... at least for me nobody else comes close to invoking as much inspiration as Doug does. Like was said in SwiftSilentDeep - he was like Ziggy Stardust. There's a few photos of him on TGR - the one of him doing the backscratcher was my PC wallpaper for a REALLY long time.

Love the scanned picture - Hunt with the old school avy gear and Lonnie Ball with one of the cooler outfits i've seen in a while

6 years...remember that day like it was something like 2 or 3 years ago.

From Warren Miiler's Off the Grid.

I used that video on my post along with a small bio I did on Doug one year ago.
