Merk has developed a vaccine that prevents HPV which is the leading cause of cervical cancer in women. This is amazing news and a true breakthrough for women's health as HPV is "responsible for 70% of cervical cancer cases". Great news right? Well that depends on who you ask.......

Cue Religious Right to make insane, dangerous and flat out false statements!!! Apparently any such vaccinne like sexual education, condoms and birth control encourage sexual activity among young, non-married people. Now being a realist I can admit that SOME people might be more inclined to have sex if they know they are safe from certain diseses and viruses. Even so, why would anyone in their right mind be opposed to protecting people from Cancer causing viruses?????????? Do they believe that such ailments are God's punnishment for being dirty? The hypocracy of the religious right in this country astounds me at times. True Christains would welcome anything that helps save our mothers, wives, sisters, etc.

What were your favorite color paint chips as a child?

I'd guess white as that's where you really find the most lead. Lotta old sheds in Missoula alleys that must have been white lead paint now just flaking away.
