Screw it, ban me since I am causing a little rift in our end of the interweb.
The kind of stuff I am talking about is just uncalled for.
On second thought, I am going to put ALL YA ALL on Ignore so when I come here I get the best TGR Forum experience possible to mankind!
Can I ignore myself is the real question here."boobs just make the world better really" - Woodsy

God Forbid you 'self moderate' by using your own 'ignore' function, as opposed to just perpetuating the trolling by dedicating 3 or 4 threads to a guy who's obvioulsy starved for attention. As it is, this type of thread is exactly what generates this kind of online behavior, so why don't we all just ignore the motherfucker and move on with our otherwise exciting lives.

Back on the old powder board we used to have great flame wars, but it seamed like people were actually arguing about something (east coast versus west coast, snowboarder versus skier, tele versus alpine etc...). Nowadays people are just too sensitive and they end up hating an internet alias, I can't follow who hates who. It's like a soap opera here, only not as fake.
Anyone remember Jade, as in "Jade you ignorant slut," nobody got banned nobody got ignored, those were fun flame wars.

To have a moderator or to self moderate????That is the question.
There is more and more useless bullshit on this site as time goes on.
And les and less usefull content.
I mean, I like the useless shit sometimes......threads about cooking and cars and sports obviouosly are a part of our community but, when people fuck up good threads with dick pics and flaming ...............Then, well, a good thread is fucked up, and that sucks.Buy nice things here.

banning people happens folks. spammers get banned, people who consistantly post nsfw in non-nsfw posts get banned etc.
Unibonger has been warned a ton not to post dick pictures in a thread. If he is still doing it show me a link and maybe I can "self moderate" his ass by signing the maggot behind the alias up for copious amounts of gay porn to show up COD at his or his mothers house.
Lots of options other than banning.

Well....this is a tough subject. I was pissed off at Unibonger a few months ago and posted a thread similiar to this, but I've learned like others have said.....just use the ignore function. It works fabulously
The problem is though, that those who are not familiar with Unibonger, get unexpectedly caught opening a harmless thread and get blasted with bullshit - this in my book is unacceptable, and I personally feel does not belong on this community. It does have consequences, especially for those who are viewing TGR at work.
Ban him, I don't care. Keep him, I don't care. The ignore function works."Can't vouch for him, though he seems normal via email."

banning just isn't harsh enough nor as entertaining as a good public stoning.

Both sides of the issue have very valid points..
I happen to love the fact that "Very little is done in moderation here... ...including moderation itself" (c), and that it could set a very dangerous precedant to start banning people for routine offenses - and the ignore button is an adequate way of filtering those people out.
I also see the point that attacking people in ways that could affect them outside the board (NSFW pics without warnings, posting email addresses for spam) is completely out of line and should be dealt with on a greater-than-individual basis. And there is precedant:
