Pay Pal Scam -Bellingham, WA
I just got an scam PayPal e-mail with the following text,
"This email confirms that you have added the following address to your
account:
705 N. State Street #204
Bellingham, WA 98225
United States"
The e-mail is obviously a scam but the Bellingham addy looks like it could have come from someone here. (Not the scam, but the only way I could be associated with Bellingham, WA other than sheer randomness is through here)
If this happens to be a maggots address drop me a PM and I'll forward you the e-mail.I should probably change my username to IReallyDon'tTeleMuchAnymoreDave.

I got a similar one a few weeks back. But it said that I added new bank account...
Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.
The things you find on the net.

It's right here if you want to go visit with some of your larger friends.
If you have a problem & think that someone else is going to solve it for you then you have two problems.

there is one floating around that sends an email receipt for a purchase you have not made with someone else's name. then of course, at the bottom, it says to file a dispute, click here. a page comes up that LOOKS JUST LIKE THE REAL PAYPAL EXCEPT FOR THE ADDRESS IN THE ADDRESS BAR. so you sign in with your user name and pw and they got your info. my dad almost fell for it, but then he saw the address bar.

I lived 2 blocks away from there during my first year at WWU, right next to a dentist, two churches, and Narcotics Anonymous.
It was fun.Putting the "core" in corporate, one turn at a time.

I must be dense. Why would someone use their real address. Aren't they just after you to "verify" your info?
edit: where is that quote in your sig from, commonlaw?

i received a few in the last few days, asking to verify my account with a link attached, said if i didn't my account would be terminated. called paypal, said it was a scam....my account is good. told me to forward it to spoof@paypal.com, they supposedly investigate it.
