    Advice on ski gear.

    Hello everybody!

I want to visit Jackson Hole next year, but I think it is already time to think about necessary equipment. What can you advice me about skis and boots, what models are the best for that rugged mountain? Please note: I want to ski mostly single/double diamond terrain.

    Any answers will be appreciated!

A sack full of balls and a fucking clue would be a good start.

Check out this website. All sorts of good information.

I would probably bring some snowblades instead of skis. You are going to want some really short sticks to make quick turns in the chutes they have there.

    Good luck.

Isn't Jackson closed next year? I heard it's all going to be controlled backcountry since the lifts were retired.

Yeah, those are pretty good snowblades. Just make sure you attach some powder cords to those, just in case you lose them in the deep snow.

You are going to want an ABS pack as well.

Good advice soul because after all it is about the safety. Casper = Gnarly!! In regard to snow blades, hold out and by next years Salomon model. You will pay more money but they are introducing a new base material composite made primarily out of unobtanium. This will make a big difference on the number of core shots.

    See you out there!

I'm not getting a troll vibe. I'm getting more of the 15-year-old-who's-just-started-skiing-and-hasn't-had-time-to-get-a-clue-yet vibe.

You there, naive JONG, post this question up (with loads more details) at either the Tech Talk forum, or over at www.epicski.com.

As far as boots go, I'd say these are your best option:

Monoskiing on skiblades is so future school. And I'm talking way more future school than graphics on sidewalls. Also, I hear Jackson is pretty cold, so definitely go with these pants:

    Should keep ya warm.

Can you yet tele on skiblades? That's when I'm gonna switch to freeheeling...

I was impressed they mentioned Mantras and LP 8800's, at least. But don't pimp heads in Utah. That's forbidden!
