Fresh coat of paint on the upper elevations, and my dog is scoping out his line on Mt Adams.

Anyone know anything about these Anatolian sheep dogs? Thinking about adopting a 5 yr old one.

Sheldon's a sweetheart, good to see him smiling.

Heath decided today was the day he'd go AWOL & chase the herd of deer on the opposing ridge... got a little worried for a bit but doofus figured it out eventually.

My Gunther (American Alsatian) supposedly has some in him so I did read up on the breed, but no personal experience. From the comments, my biggest fear in adopting an older dog would be how chill is he (especially with other dogs) as the breed can be a tough one to train. If he was young I would take on the training, but an older dog needs to be good or forget it for me.

Do you know what it's situation was before? My limited experience and indirect experience with them is as flock guardians, with little human interaction, so they are bonded to the livestock not people. They are very aloof, can be tough to work and bond with if not around people from an early stage. If it had been a family pet before, socialized with people and around other pets then could possibly work. Have you visited with this one any?

They are fence climbers, like to roam, more active at night, and are territorial. It's a lot of dog.

That’s a fun site. Had never heard of coonhound paralysis before

This coonhound is definitely not paralyzed.
