Yep, goldendoodle. And I wouldn't quite say they've bonded. The puppy LOVES the old guy, the old guy tolerates the puppy (wish he would lay the smackdown sometimes, but he doesn't).

OK so we might have fallen into adopting a 7 months old Swiss mountain dog. His old owner passed and we had been thinking of adopting another dog since the one we fostered this summer fizzled. Any tips for giant breeds? He is already 70 pounds.

I have read conflicting things about food. Some say puppies get all stages, others say puppy until 2 etc.

I know to limit jumping etc. But otherwise looking for advice for the little pony

I have raised several large dogs, GSDs and mixes. Both trainers and vets have told me to lay off the puppy food by 6 mos. Thought being that too much protein = too much growth too fast. Don’t know if that is current dogma (no pun intended) or not.

Also told to avoid long runs, especially on hard surfaces. Watch the weight.

Swiss Mtn Dogs have always intrigued me. Met a few, who were happy both being mellow and active. Fewer health issues compared to their relatives the Bernese from what I hear

Well we brought him home last night to have some sleepovers.
Decent response to the cats, curious and wanting to play but it's good natured still. Our one cat has been standing his ground which has been good I think.

He is a big boy. Our trainer was guessing 120 full grown

Took my dogs to the woods for a couple hours of fun. One rolled in a dead animal and the other got into my car and puked a gallon of deer shit. Just epic.

Taking care of my B-I-L’s tiny, (34 lbs), Golden, while they vacate. Total goofball that Kedar keeps in line. It almost gets it. Give us another week, and she’d be great.
