The best part is he's a total snuggler right now. Passed out in my lap last night. That's ok since he's only 16 lbs. or so. He and his littermates were way underweight when they were surrendered to the rescue. He very well could end up around 60-70 lbs which isn't quite lap dog material anymore. His paws are comically massive right now as well. Nearly as big as the 55 lb. lab's.

Problem is that he will still want to be a lap dog when he grows up.

This 70 lb bitch can't survive unless she's laying on or licking a human

Heh. That never occurred to me - that's more or less a daily part of life with a Newfie. It's amazing how low the bar drops and how quickly that happens...

The bear is more tolerant of puppy antics than I am! He's always been a teddy bear, but life with a young puppy has really given him a chance to live up to the whole "sweetness of temperament is the hallmark of the breed" thing. With that said, he occasionally corrects her and I cheer for him - poor fella was provoked.

Man, 12 years old, your beast looks great! Our guy is 7 now and is still super athletic, but occasionally shows signs of being a little more middle-aged than I like to admit. That second picture may as well have been taken at my house. He finds the coldest part of the floor and throws himself at it, landing in that exact position.
