    That is what has me about all this, its almost like the study suggests buying the cheapest food out there with plenty of wheat fillers.

    It suggests a link to low taurine levels, but also makes the link that the foods are all grain free and have legumes or potatoes. So which is it?

    Correlation=/= causation.

    Either way guess i'm looking into a more raw/homecooked diet. But what should i be feeding...

    Our vet had us switch the elder dogs diet. We took him in cuz he started to breathe heavily with no expended effort & had collapsed after sprinting. We ended up seeing a specialist who did an ultrasound on his heart and ran a heart monitor on him for 24 hrs. The verdict was borderline heart disease but not definitive. She had us change diet and add taurine supplements too. The hope was it might reverse or slow any damage happening to his heart. We did the taurine for 6mos but didn’t see any effect so stopped that supplementation. The food is still changed. He is def in old dog mode now. Ok for 10yo, but still seemingly early to be slowing down so much. He doesn’t jump on the bed anymore without a ton of encouragement which is sad for us ...evening snuggles not a thing anymore

    Well, maybe I spoke too soon based on the other thread: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/dog-foo...investigation/

    I was feeding Nutro, but not one of the grain free/peas/lentils formulas like was specified in the article.

    I wonder if it’s due more to a population bias. I.e. people who care about their dog and have more money spend on food might also be more apt to report to the FDA. Vs the troves of people who buy Iams because it’s the cheapest and have never once read the label nor cared to read the label.

    Also these are just reports and not a study with controls so it’s not going to change my food selection.

    Dog stairs or ramps will help with that.

    They were stoked to find some snow today...

    Hard to believe he is 13, he thinks he’s still a pup though (most of the time).

    It's what the kids these days would say for something cool.

    Could replace "send it" or "word" too. Multifunctional

    My idiot 12 yr old thought it was great idea to spray paint it on the tree.

    Doggie stoke

    RIP Bella. So sad. So many great images in the last many posts.

    Our Golden Rossi (could be 14yrs old in August) is on borrowed time. She has a tumor metastasizing in the back of her mouth which has grown and is blocking a large portion of the right nostril. She sounds awful but refuses to quit. I have given her every opportunity to let go. She keeps fighting and steroids are helping with her day to day comfort. Still playing fetch, eating, shitting and playing outside. No signs of pain just a shit ton of guilt on my end.

    Fuck me. Just saw the above post I typed up a week or so ago and never posted it. Figured I would just add to it.

    My oldest son woke up this morning to celebrate his 8th birthday only to find his best friend Rossi no longer with us but resting peacefully.
