His nickname is Mr Handsome. The people we got him from said he's an Australian shepherd. I'm sure he also has border collie (lanky body length and skulking walk) and husky (face markings and tail). His colouring, called red merle, is found both in shepherds and collies (although not common in collies), and his one eye is half blue half amber, which is in all three breeds. He's super chill- his hobby is sleeping- not like a collie or shepherd, but listens well like them.
He was 2 when I got him, he's 4 now. He's awesome, a real score. I'd found him online but he got adopted right when I first saw him. He actually got adopted and returned twice in 2 months, showed up online again, then I was able to get him.

liv- I know! He's from a town just over the border, 2 hrs away. I saw him online, called, but someone was coming down from near where I live to get him. Left my number. Kept looking for 2 months for another dog. Then he showed up again- apparently he was playing too rough at the new house with their show dog and I know the person who had him even, ha. Called.... and he was on his way to a new home already. Left my number again. They called back- the new home's chihuahua won't stop attacking him. Okay, I'm coming for him!
He lived on a farm with 11 other dogs, 7 of those were pound foster dogs. He belonged to the woman's son, but he was moving away and she said he had to go. He was the bottom of the pack, but here he's the only dog, so he's pretty much in heaven and we are in love with him. He's a total sweetheart. He's my 4th dog, all strays/rehomed adults.
snapt- not that familiar with ES There's a another pic of him in the page before this. He loves the heat, lays in the sun when it's 35+ mid afternoon, so we figure he's got some heat loving thing in him. (not really sure if that's an AS thing, just our own joke.)

Picked this dude up on Saturday. 9 week old border collie rescue. First two days he was the sweetest little guy you could imagine, just followed me around and slept a lot, he turned into the unholy beast from hell today, in a good way. First thing I knew of it was my cats litter box seemed like it was having a magnitude 5000 earthquake in it, he thinks it's the best thing ever. He has already mastered sit and shake, and knows that my pups pee in the front yard and poop in the back yard. Looking forward to the back flipping, elk herding, beer fetching beast he will become.

Utah goes snowshoeing. For a nine-year old short-legged dog, he is still killing it at trail breaking.
There was some resting required. And a lot of licking of snow-encrusted private parts. I had to say "deer, deer" to get his attention.

I promise you this: you will outlive the bastards." – Edward Abbey

Tucker and Nacho look like brothers.
fishbenk - can you turn your back on that fish with Naya around? My old Elkhound would've had himself a quick snack if you ever left a fish laying around near him....Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain...

That looks almost just like one of my girls, grayed chin and all. I really need to start taking more photos of my dogs. Just got like a foot of snow at my place, and the dogs just love swimming through all that pow. Also, it is just me, or do you guys find it hilarious to see your dogs try and take a crap in like two foot deep snow. I just love their concerned faces as they're neck deep in the stuff. Maybe I'm just cruel, though. Haha.
