I figured it was going to be difficult getting Spider to wear a jacket and I was 100% wrong. We had a daytime high of -10 today in Smithers and he loved his coat. Strutting around all happy.

I chose to heed PB’s advice about the trail and error nature of dog jacket selection so I just bought the only one they had from the local Total Pets.$60

Indeed. And if I put it on him, it has the added advantage of protecting his eyes from the wind!!!

wondering if our 7yo is having hearing problems
she seems to sleep more and is less responsive to people coming on the property or noises outside
this is a dog that would go nuts at the doorbell
she seems content despite the puppy bugging her constantly
she's excited to go on runs with mrs ::: :::

Damn box cars, I hope your doggo is OK!

My Maisie is finally OK. After the 2nd of 2 knee surgeries, she's finally off leash again and able to do fun stuff. Here she is revelling in her first ski days of the season.

Loki is 7 weeks out from a double CCL surgery. She's not quite cleared for snow rampaging yet but is pretty happy to be allowed back up on the couch with a lift assist. I can't wait until I can let her out in the backyard to take a shit without her being on a leash.

How long ago was Maisie's 2nd surgery?Click image for larger version.

Oh, poor Loki. Maisie is now just over 14 weeks post surgery. So we're now off leash, and doing 3 - 4 larger exercise sessions (30min bike rides, 30 min ski tours) per day.

Starting to wonder if she’s just entering the “give no fucks” phase of her life…sometimes she’s right on it…then oblivious

    General doggie question:

It's winter. It's dark early but trails are snowpacked and in excellent shape. Is there any reason I shouldn't throw a headlamp around his neck and take him for a run in the dark? I figure if I put the lamp under his neck and use the wide angle setting he'll be able to see just fine, and with snow on the ground and no leaves I'll be able to see him from a long ways off.

Dogs have generally pretty good night vision. If you have a headlamp they can probably follow with you no issue.
