We got some bad news last night about our 14-yr old black lab Yoshi, so I thought I'd post one of my favorites of him from a while back.

More recent pic minus the snow unfortunately but taken after her first attempt at a swim yesterday. She wisely decided it was a bit too cold to go for it.

After losing my tripod in Dec, i needed my golden fix. I applied for adoption at Golden Retriever Rescue of CO. Amazingly they called me a few weeks back. I picked this guy up two weeks ago. No idea why someone would give him up. He is a great addition.

Shelby runs our house and got to enjoy a rare snow day today. We adopted her about 5 years ago - her previous owners said she had too much energy. She's still a maniac.

We say that ALL the time with the dogs we foster, including the ones we've adopted. That said, since my wife is intimately involved with the lab rescue, we hear some pretty bad stories of why people actually do give dogs up. People suck, that's basically all there is to it.

Here's a recent pic of my boy, Porter (aka Jackass). He's looking way more regal than his usual derpy self.

    Looks a little like Shitface.

I just bought a new couch and he's not allowed on it. Dog smells like a petting zoo after a week without a bath. He doesn't get it and is not OK with the new rules.

Old couch was his favorite place to pass out

The youngster brought new life into him. He bounces around playing with the pup...for a fairly short time...and then he sleeps.

One of my co-workers recently got his family's second Koolie. Very attentive, happy, smart and agile little dog. Full grown, he will be less than 40 pounds.

Daisy enjoyed going on walks with Uncle skifishbum when he was staying at my place. He is such a dog lover.

Aaaah man, don't do that to your best friend. My wife insisted they stay off the new coach and being good dogs, they stayed down until last Christmas when I threw a quilt over it and said "come on up". Happy dogs rule. And if he is a stinker, just get some of that spray on coat conditioner to make him smell good between baths.

I'm probably going to stick to keeping him off the couch...I'm going to get him a nicer dog bed he can pass out on

We dig all the Australian working dog breeds. Where'd they find the Koolie? Not too common.
