Flipped on the Westminster Kennel Club show when I got home tonight just in time to see the Herding Group.
Here it is boys, we’ve reached the top of the mountain:
A dog named Damit is a champion.
I still call it The Jake.

I don’t know the context of this situation.... but, objectively and all else being equal, a pit bull or Akita is more dangerous than my black lab mix. That’s just a fact. I think we can agree that some breeds carry a higher level of responsibility than others. It serves no one to deny that.

A living being needs a license to exist?
I dunno. It just seems wrong.

No body wants to see anyone get chewed up, especially a child. I have met many of the sweetest Pits in the world and understand that a few fucked up humans train theirs to be unacceptable in public. I suggest if that happens, both the dog and human that contributed to this unsafe situation need to be put down. Problem solved in about a year.

I have a lab/hound mix and a pit bull.
The lab/hound will bite you if you try to take something from him that he doesn't want to give up...like a piece of steak.
The pit bull don't give a fuck and won't blink if you take anything from her
The lab/hound idiot is autistic and has a natural defense mechanism because of it. Pit bull just wants to lay around and/or lick your faceIf it's green, smoke it...if it's pink, poke it

Sure. I read up a bit on it. Not advocating for or against any bill. Just saying, dog breeds are hardly identical. That’s part of what makes dogs so damned cool. Anecdotal examples notwithstanding, pretending there’s no difference between a pit bull and a golden retriever certainly doesn’t help anybody and does everybody a disservice, including the dogs themselves.

Hounds are weird. My gf has a hound mix, and I don’t really understand the dog. Sweet enough dog, but not sure I’d feel good with the dog around small kids.
Her daughter has a pit, and that dog is a menace. Hasn’t been abused, but also hasn’t been trained and properly socialized. Not the dog’s fault, but the result is a little terrifying in a way that a bulldog certainly wouldn’t be. My neighbor had a black lab that was absolutely vicious.
I’ve met sweet pits, too.
All dogs are different. Just.... not sure I understand the agenda that doesn’t acknowledge behavioral differences and capacity to inflict serious injury between breeds.focus.

Doggie stoke
My current gripe about my bloodhound/lab mix is that he’s heavily shedding WAY early (damn Cali “winter”!) and there’s something dead in his fenced area that I can’t find and he keeps rubbing his face in
He’s very loving and affectionate around children. Of course, being part lab, he sometimes has poor body space awareness and that tail(!). Known many sweetheart pits.
Known one “Tibetan mastiff” that faced off with my wife at a house party maybe 15 years ago. she’d been hanging with the dog for several days immediately beforehand. That was a bad scene and a bit scary for everybody there. Eventually, the owners realized they couldn’t make the time to train her well and they sent her back to the rescue place they got her from. Pretty unfortunate situation.
