Adopted this goof a year ago.

The wife and I were cracking up the other night - he was snuggled with her and the baby was kicking him in the head from inside the womb. Didn't faze him one bit.

It's an Astral. They make the color in that pic and came out with a cool green and grey version this year. I know you can get them at www.cascadeoutfitters.com and I'm sure other places online or local too.

We got a jacket for our pup, and while we've never had to yank her out, it's been nice knowing she won't get so exhausted out there she'll get into trouble. We witnessed a fairly scary scenario over the summer where someone's dog swam WAAAY out after some ducks and the owners couldn't get it's attention to turn it around. Luckily someone in a boat came out and scooped it up or it could have ended badly. So yeah, definitely worth the peace of mind.

We got ours at the local boat store.

Yeah, but he's never swam anything bad. He just likes to swim so he jumps in a lot. The pfd works great for pulling him back in. My older dog has swam some rapids in his Lotus when he fell out. He's not much of a boater and is getting old so he stays home.

Thanks man. She definitely has way more energy than I do. She would run and swim til she passed out or died I'm pretty sure. Add in the hound stubbornness and she can be a handful for sure. But probably the best dog I've ever had.

Put down our dog Blackjack today after 12 great years. He was an awesome pet, friend and companion. He was everything I want a dog to be and more.
He enhanced our lives, and I don't have a single friend who hasn't been touched by his energy and character.

Thanks for the support. I know it's a 'stoke' thread, but just felt like putting it out there.

What breed is he? Mine looks very similar with the white spots, but we haven't gotten a breed test yet.

WTF? You kidnapped my dog and convinced him to like water.... how the hell did you do that?

Thanks, but the credit is due my wife who rescued him from a wasted life languishing in a sled dog kennel. I just went along for the ride not knowing how great it would end up being.

I have this big ass malamute, he's pretty amazing in every way. Except his favorite thing to do is throw up.

Thought I'd throw up a photo of the commemorative Jack o Lantern I carved last night on the spur of the moment.

Sorry for your loss. It's tough to help a friend go. Way cool on the jack o'. Looks like a tradition has been born.
