yeah, that's one of our three regular dog haunts. 10/10 hike. we fucking love it up there - the hike to the overlook is just stunning, perfect for an after work evening hike.

the sunsets in ferguson right now are just out of this world.

I've always heard there's a really healthy rattler population up there? I've taken the dogs up there a few times but am always stressed about that.

There most definitely are lot of rattlers up there. Almost stepped right on one a decade ago.

What kind of pup is that? All that hair and that big head, wondering what she'd look like if she had a haircut.

She’s a newfy / golden retriever mix. Turns 14 in a few months. Just a little bear and great family dog. Hope she’s got a few more years left in her.

Rapidly running out of skiable snow at the local hill, so we snuck out for an after-work skin on Friday. As a bonus, he seems to have picked up on the fact that I'll usually stop when we run out of snow and wait instead of continuing ahead full speed until running out of lead.

I had been thinking he was getting close to the point of being able to behave himself off lead, but then we saw a porcupine a couple of weeks ago, and having physical control probably kept us out of the vet's office.Click image for larger version.

That would be sweet. He isn't really a barker though. I was just tongue in cheek with that but I should train to expect a treat when the skier falls and go from there if he puts the connection together.

I have a bunch of mirrors but the law says we need an observer here. Garbage. We use the 'winter rules' exemption often which just means no DNR no observer needed....which is almost always since we don't ski during busy weekend hours and DNR has been starved out by our trusty leaders.

That would be funny if he sat up and begged for a treat every time the skier bit it.
