Going to go meet an 18 mo female Newfie this weekend that needs re-homed. Sounds like her previous owners neglected her. Nervous and excited. It’s been a year since we lost Zoe and Rosie’s almost 11. She’s going along with me to meet Holly.

I’m excited! We’ll meet her Sunday morning. The in-laws of the lady that currently has her has raised newfs for a long time. This girl was from their last litter, was the runt and no one was really interested. Apparently an acquaintance adopted her and then neglected her. They kept her muzzled and she doesn’t know why, she shows no signs of aggression. She had some scrapes on her face where the muzzle was too tight. It sounds like she’s super sweet, loves other dogs, people, likes cats. She has some separation anxiety but she thinks it’s just because she’s not sure about things. Once she settles in and knows she’s in her forever home, she thinks she’ll be fine. She’s house broke, crate trained, but needs some consistent training/activity. She said she’s not a massive drooler. I’ve only had Shelties and Labs, so any advice is greatly appreciated!

Here’s “Honey”, the young Newf. She is definitely small. Such a sweetheart, has no training at all, just full of love. She needs a lot of work but I really think she’s manageable, just needs some security, stability, structure and love. I’m going to bring her home Friday, so we have the weekend to start helping her settle in to her forever home and hopefully Rosie will accept her. She played with her some and ignored her some today. I need to figure out a name, not sure I like Honey. Her foster says she doesn’t even know her name. She needs spayed & some other minor health issues attended to, so I’ll get her in to see our vet asap.

That's awesome! Respect. I've probably posted before but my new pup is a rescue who was found in a dumpster on the rez. He's still got lots of work to do but he's adjusting to camping and loving home life. His brother still isn't sure. Cross post from fishing.

Moira enjoying the glow of the first fire of the season:
"... Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to your body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much: I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this: you will outlive the bastards." – Edward Abbey
