Hi Yeah hi
Sent from my iPhone using TGR ForumsI need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Rocky likes the pendleton and loves snuggling his brother when he finally tires out.

No pictures but I am very stoked that Moira returned home on her own after a four-hour jaunt in the woods on a deer scent. I tracked her for about two hours, finally gave up and headed home due to guests arriving, thankful for the compass and map on my phone as I got a bit turned around. No point having a lost dog and a lost husband at the same time. She finally staggered back in the mushy snow, then slept for about 12 hours.
It's a tough call. Bad dog for running off and ignoring the human, good dog for coming home. Need to work more on redirecting for the prey drive.
Any suggestions welcome, though I am not going to buy the Spot-On collar, cool as it is.Last edited by Mr. Multiglisse; 02-12-2024 at 09:07 PM.

I’ve never returned home without my dog. But I’ve lost him for up to an hour and my heart was just broken.
Glad your dog found his way home.

Thanks. It's pretty much impossible to keep up with a dog in the woods, and she does have an excellent track record (7 for 7) of returning home after running off after something. So I was banking on that and it paid off.
This would be the best collar option for Moira, at least we'd know where she is."... I'm pretty sure I've suggested this to you before so feel free to ignore it but I'd highly recommend an electric shock coller. It lets you give instant consequences when your dog is being a shithead. Being able to nip bad behavior right off is great! That said I've got an idiot of a lab/Rottweiler that is anxious to please rather than a dog that has a high prey drive.
It can seem kind of inhumane shocking your dog but I think it's way better than having your pup on the loose for a long period of time risking getting hit by a car or similar.
