Thanks for the beta man, I appreciate the insight. Oso is a gorgeous boy. Enjoy.

I do wish we had been able to wait longer to have our current dog neutered. He was a rescue so it was done early and I think waiting would've been better.
I think a lot depends on the breed and the dog’s temperament.

We’re good friends with our breeder and we want to help her as much as possible. She wants us to keep all the males intact.

She gives me the dogs that are too big to show, stupid AKC standards, but they’re really good trail dogs. My wife and son have shown him in field trials and he excelled.

I’ve never had a problem with any of my boys being aggressive. But it is annoying that they stop to pee on just about anything.

All Special Forces dogs are neutered, for that very reason . If it was up to me, I’d neuter them at six months.

Nope, to young, but YRMV. I am not doing that anymore, but a vasectomy.

That dude is ripped. Vishio -spelling- ? I've seen them be quite agressive on the beach - when they aren't running like 5 thousand miles an hour.

^^^ Yeah, dude is ripped. Very handsome dog... and for that matter, there's just so many nice looking animals on these pages. Fit, happy dogs.

My daughter and I snuck in a few laps after school today and then pulled our buddy Spider out of the truck for a run down to town.

Right? Dude looks like he could pull a sled team all on his own with those.

Also, Angle Parking, where's this magical (looks lift served) place you can ski with your pup?

The bigger issue in my experience is neutered dogs harassing intact dogs. I tired to get sage to 1.5-2 years but he decided he liked marking inside at a year and got the snip. Ended that behavior.

Speaking of, anyone have experience with ovary sparing spays? Have an intact female project arriving next week. If she hunts she'll stay intact, otherwise wondering if this is a better alternative?

Smithers B.C. Our ski hill is connected to town via the Rotary Trail To Town. 4.2km and it gets periodically groomed throughout the season. Great for kids, parents (who don;t have to go pick up there kids at hill, uphill skiing, night skiing, drunken teenagers on GT Snow Racers, etc. So below the lift serviced area.

As I said up thread, don't spay your female dogs. Find a vet that will leave the ovaries and just remove the rest. They need their hormones as they age.

We generally stay out of avy terrain, and the forecast has been green here for weeks. He does carry a Pieps TX600 if for some reason shit hit the fan.

Is that a dam in the background?

Might want to get a little further away from that....
