Introductions went pretty well. Duff meet Butters. (Butters is the wheaten).
Spartacus knows by now to give the little terrorers some space.

He’s hanging in there, thanks for asking. He’s climbed the two flights of stairs to visit mommeh’s home office at least 3 times in the past week, which is a solid indicator he’s feeling sassy. He looks a little lost in the yard at times, so I go out and herd him in. He’s been doing a bunch of other adorable stuff lately, clearly focused on leaving a lasting impression, hopefully not anytime soon.
The whole 6-months prognosis is a bit of a nightmare. Sure, I’d rather have known in advance, and considered different treatments, but ultimately it feels like a very uncomfortable waiting game.
We’re very happy our Senior Scotty has responded well to supplements, and count every good day as a blessing, and pray the bad days stay infrequent as they have. He’s even started snapping his jaws at me again when he wants to go out, which is one of his most endearing qualities that we’re hoping Butters picks up on.
He already has his own theme song:

Duff’s theme song is quite a bit older:

Spartacus just gets the “I’m Spartacus” quote from the movie. I had new tags made for all of them yesterday (how’s that for optimism?), and Spartacus’ is the only one with “I’m” before his name. Should have done it that way 13 years ago.

Had some disruptions in the home routine recently, and I'm very happy that the dog seems to be adjusting okay.

Good hike, good pup.
Not pictured: the deer carcass he found. Every time I think, "his recall is getting better, maybe he can be off lead when we're away from traffic," he comes up with a scenario where I'm glad he's on leash.

I obviously didn't train my two current Knuckleheads very well because off leash is really problematic with them. My previous Keeshond's were perfect, no training necessary, off-leash no problem. So yeah, some dogs are just Knuckleheads and others are really good.

Bad weekend around our house. Stella snagged a loose wire on a fence while rough housing at doggy day care on Friday. 2 trips to the vet for surgeries, stitches, drain tubes etc. doesn’t stop her from dreaming of the day when she can get back out to harass the neighborhood rabbit.

HA! i totally forgot about her parting shot. She is healing nicely, the drain tube came out last night and the healing seems to be proceeding nicely. Be good to have her back to nut shot form again. It is sad to see her laying around, groggy from the meds and looking pathetic in her body armor.

A week and 2 days in, the old guard are beginning to accept the young gun, they’re even playing together!
This might be my new favorite puppy pic:
Regarding the pizza drool, cross-post at a bare minimum, but really could be its own thread.

Thanks mang! I’ll give them a look. Found something kind of on point from a company called Carolina Dog Company. I’ll report back when it arrives. In the meantime. Little shit has completely torn apart Connor’s bed of 15 years. Doesn’t stop the old man from sleeping in it, or Shep from stealing it.
Love this pic.
Holy shit, Pupper Tucker is cute!
Little Shep isn’t staying little much longer. We have entered the tween stage where we like to test every boundary.
I still call it The Jake.
