Got my track bike up and running finally...just in time for the last two days of the season. Here's a couple pics from last weekend:

    Nice!

Almost went to Little Sahara on Monday but settled for 5-mile because of time constraints.

A big group of us are having our 5th annual "moto-rally" down by White Wash on the weekend of October 13, 14(with several doing 4 days or more). It's turned into quite a party with lots of different crews showing up and having a great time. Anyone is welcome.

Moto Rally sounds like a blast. I haven't ridden much in So. Utah so it would be awsome to have someone to follow. I wish the dunes were in my back yard- All wet and grippy! It's definately an all day affair to ride from SLC.
I like 5 mile too, it's a lot like Cherry Creek and a lot closer. So happy that its not 100 degrees anymore!

Any of you guys know where I can find a pair of Ace bars in a 1" diameter (for less than $150 preferably - that's all I can find from some custom shops)
7/8" ones all over the place for $25-50 but not a single pair of 1" to be found

    thanks.

Once I get around to installing those I'll post some pics again...the bike is transforming to a cafe rather quickly.

Just picked up an '06 999 from a good friend who's wife had a baby a few months ago and made him sell....

Now, my wife is out of town on a business trip - due home tuesday - and has no clue about my new piece of art for the garage. I have also been specifically forbidden to buy another bike after a major accident ~5 years ago.

I'm soliciting your opinions.... Will she suck it up, or will I be on the road to divorce soon?

In either case, the only shot of seeing me around here before the weather gets to cold for riding is during a rain storm.

I'm back in the saddle, and giddy like a fucking schoolgirl. Not having a bike has been like a hole in my life. The void has been filled!

That is all. Please carry on with your regularly scheduled programming.

Considering that 999 has the same effect as Viagra you should probably be OK. If not, I have room in my garage. For the bike that is.

That's a tough call. I almost think that if it is your first bike you don't really want a passenger on the back for a few months until you get a better idea of how things handle.

The 750 is good to learn on, but once you've got a few thousand miles on the bike and you start carrying people on the back I think you will want an 1100. I just sold my 750 and in the spring I'll get something bigger.

I want the ability to accelerate going up a hill with some extra power and the 750 was just a little underpowered. It'll cruise easily at 80 on flat road, but the hills is where you will notice it.

Thanks for the response. I definitely don't plan on having any passengers before racking up a whack of miles but I didn't necessarily want to have to buy a new bike my second season either. Maybe that's the most sensible approach though. Now that the Canadian dollar is so strong maybe I'll be able to pick up a 750 at a good price and it won't be too big of a deal.

Ok so I dispensed with the header wrap and had the headers and exhaust ceramic coated. New low cafe bars and powder coated headlight and saddlebag racks...heading for an all black bike.

That looks great. I was looking at a used bonneville on craigslist last year but it was too $$. Thought about picking up a cheap honda that I saw in someones driveway here that looks similar to that but I really dont have a place to put it right now
