The carbs were out- and look real clean. The wiring is a mess. I suspect a misdiagnosed electrical problem that the po thought was a carb issue caused the parking.

The plan is very basic build and ride. I love the patina it has so this won’t be a restoration but a light resto/mod

Get it running Strip of some of the accessories. Lighten the look. But really, I like how it looks now.

It’s so original it would be criminal to hack it up at all.

Although it’s a project I am doing with my bro- so we are seeing eye to eye creatively now - but for how long?

Yep it’s a dual disk and 4 to one- although not much left of the pipe

Get rid of that rusty pipe and hunt for a vintage Kerker.

That right pegs wear button hasn't seen asphalt, ride her harder, make her sweat.

I had a windjammer and a kerker on my cb750.

    That's too funny.

Want another windjammer? It’s going on eBay. Comes complete with a comb probably last used to tame a greasy mullet in the 80s.

No thanks. I wonder where those 3+ pairs of frozen leather gloves I left in the snap on storage are right now. If only we could GPS shit decades later. Mine had a cassette deck though. I used to rage New England backroads blasting that thing.

    Those do sound amazing.

Although is it just me or does that bike need a valve adjust and/or a carb sync. Should run smoother than that should it not?

Interestingly they are about what we paid for the bike.

Thinking an old school straight pipe from were the 4 join back about a foot.

    For now at least

Rode the lift with a good old boy from northern Texas. He is an old motorcycle guy, raced everything with two wheels, mostly just drag bikes now. He was very impressed by the hill climb, looking forward to trying snowmobiles for the first time the next day. It was his grandson’s first time seeing snow.
Meanwhile in Jackson, I have been seeing a few early season rider braving the just above freezing weather. I have added a Baja Designs headlight, and have to replace a battery. Looking forward to getting twisty

Chaz Davies came from the third row in Race 2 on Sunday to claim the 28th win of his career. Davies went into the lead on Lap 7 and managed the race to the checkered flag.

I have a buddy that has a weekly race report. He keeps me up to speed on what's going on, cars and bikes. I can put you on the mailing list, if you like. Some of the races are on BeIn and channels you have to subscribe to. Youtube and periscope is the back up plan. I've been to Laguna Seca a few times and NHiS in Nh back when they ran nationals on motorcycle weekend/Father's Day. Plenny racing in New England, too. Limerock, Thompson , Palmer , NhiS , etc. almost tagged along when my buddies raced at Sebring last month, long drive to go watch. You should check another friend's business wrapping race cars,, he's doing a Ferrari right now. pretty sweet.
my buddy also does a weekly blues show streaming on Brandeis radio(on FM , too...if you're with 3-4 miles) . He's quite a guy. Started the Boston Blues Trust and raced back in the day. He writes articles, takes photos.

    Weekly report would be sweet.
That’s like getting a cheat sheet! lol

I was at Laguna Seca 2005 when MotoGP came back to United States after a decade.
Nicky won that race and it was something to witness.
    Sucks he’s no longer around.

I was there in '98 when Doug Chandler left in a helicopter. very scary. Camping at the track is amazing, waking up to coffee, bacon and bikes on the track.
When Nicky died last spring right after chris cornell died, it hit me pretty hard. A good friend's long time live in girlfriend had just died tragically a few weeks earlier and he was a mess and it had my sideways, bummed out, too.She was a sweetheart.
it's been a strange year. Trump and all kinds of weird stuff . I try to distract myself with cool stuff like racing and music..and snow sports.
I'll PM the info to you for the race report cheat sheet.

Love camping at the race track.
I started camping when I was going out to trackdays and racing with CMRA and TMGP.
That excitement in the air and calm before the storm really is something.

    Jesus.
He had no chance going into corkscrew like that.
Scary as it is, it could’ve been worse.

Sorry you are going through a rough patch.
Do whatever makes you happy and occupied.
Let’s hope this year will get better.

Wow, that was brutal. Never ridden a bike at Laguna Seca, but have driven there a few times, and the corkscrew complex is one of racing's greatest and infamous turns. Fun as hell, but scary as fuck at the same time. Must be even more of both on a bike.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

looks like Akira clipped him or the other way around
another rough one for him in 1998

Yanagawa became the first Japanese rider to win a Superbike World Championship race outside his homeland, also winning Sugo later in the year to come 4th overall. 1998 was dominated by two huge crashes. At Monza the bike hurtled through the gravel at the Ascari Chicane before catching fire due to a burst fuel line, with Yanagawa nowhere near it. At Laguna Seca he was running 2nd when Doug Chandler's wild card Kawasaki went out of control on the run into the Corkscrew corner and harpooned Yanagawa. It was a frightening moment, yet Yanagawa only missed one further round. He was classified 2nd in that race, as the restart was abandoned following another pile-up. On his return he took two 4th places, and followed this with two podium results at Sugo. This was good for 7th overall.

Lhutz project Super Sport made me think of this smaller café modification (not that he's going that route)...this is probably a cb360 (or smaller) either way a real sweet job
The pics were snapped in North Dakota a few years ago, not my bike, didn't get a chance to talk to the owner, not sure if I ever posted these.

that's sweet. my first bike was a CB 125 scrambler type in the late 70's, I was 10. My dad wouldn't let me have a psycho 2 stroke. Lots of woods bikes, MT 125 was next.

mine was a lil different, same red but with upswept pipe. My dad knew I wouldn't be as likely to hurt myself on the snowmobile trails in Maine. My mom ended up with it when I got the MT 125
