I've been pretty happy with my Honda Africa Twin. Bike is good on road, and way more capable then me off road.

1,000 ride through three national parks. Perfect weather for all the mountains roads, but too hot down below...102F in Bakersfield
Really fun on the twisties with the stock predominantly street tires. Not so great on gravel, but that will change once I burn through these. 6,000miles and no real ware yet, though.

Nice! That bike looks awesome on paper. Glad it works IRL. Do you like it better than your KLR?

Depends on which features are important. Way better touring bike. Can be loaded way up and still cruise the highway all day long in comfort at 90 mph. Can't do that on the KLR. A good bit heavier and not as dirt friendly as the KLR which is a better duel sport machine, plus the KLR is so cheap and bullet proof. If I were riding across Mongolia, I'd pick the KLR, but for a ride to Alaska on tarmac and gravel the AT wins.
Maybe because the AT costs over twice the price of a KLR, I was a lot more comfortable off road and crashing the KLR then the AT
Maybe after a few bumps and bruises on the AT and I won't feel so bad about dropping it in the dirt. Both are great bikes in their own rights, but the AT is a pretty sweet ride if one will be on more pavement then dirt. In the hands of a capable rider (not me) the AT can perform well for a 500+lb bike offroad.

It's a drive-through tunnel cut through a downed tree, me thinks.

Yep, Tunnel Log in Sequoia NP. The drive through sequoia in Yosemite fell in '69.

Kawi Concours
Looks like I signed up for this old gem yesterday. Old ski buddy noticed my interest on getting back into touring and he has just the bike for the right price.
2006 Kawi Concours 1000.18K shaft drive and the Ninja motor dialed down for touring. Now I need to find my old Vanson jacket and helmet.Bacon tastes good. Pork chops taste goood.

Anybody gone from sport to cruiser ? Thoughts/opinions?
I got a 2004 FZ6 i bought 4/2014 fer $2k with 5k miles. Not the bike I'da chosen but the price was right, easy sell from the dentist (well optomitrist) down the steet. I didn't wanta like it, was thinking more cruiser. I haven't been wild about the riding postion or the estetic -spelling- but I've really liked thats its lightweight, nimble, and that I get get the damn thing back up when i accidentally knock it over (which i've done maybe 3 times). It has gotten me where I want to go. At 16k now but starting to think cruiser again, specfically a shadow which was the original target. what am i not thinking of? Never even ridden a cruiser but may try to test one today. any/all thoughts appreciated. thx MT. Oh yeah I don't wantta spend a lotta money (who does?)"Can't you see..."

I still haven’t even started my bike this year (mind it’s 100 miles away).
I blame golf.

A little Trackday Stoke from a few months back. Mildly-modded TL1000.
Kinda scruffy, but seems to go pretty well.

Mags, I am trying to sell my bike before my move out of Denver at the end of November. I am taking a big hit on it, but it is honestly a great bike and I my mind a good deal for someone. Has about 1350 miles on it, brand new high quality tires and fork seals. Was just serviced with full fluid changes. 2012 Triumph Thruxton. Has race exhaust, mapping, full Ikon suspension front and rear, air box remove...I have all stock parts, except for the original tires. $4500

I’ll look really good on that bike.
