My California friends are trying to buy a new dirtbike, and they're telling me that every KTM dirtbike (2t and 4t) from 2022 is illegal to ride on public lands (red sticker?).

WTF, it seems far fetched, and they aren't the best at figuring stuff out, but it IS California. Anyone have knowledge on this?

God. The motorcycle industry is so short sighted sometimes. They are all complaining when they had years of lead time to do something about it.

I ran most of my errands on the Roughhouse today. Gonna be riding a lot more with good weather and $4-$5 gas. Just don't want to be caught too far from home if it rains.. HATE riding in the rain..

Hit 5th gear on the commute today for the first time since november or December. It was 9 degrees and I got cold really fast.

Brilliant! Every time I ride the thing I remind myself to have my feet firmly on the pegs in case I lose it and need to bail.

Anyone have any experience with this bike?

    https://www.ridekayo.com/copy-of-k4-250

I’m looking for an affordable bike to cruise around the local trails, mainly chasing my 10 year old. I’d prefer a Honda CRF250F, but the market is so fucked, they basically don’t exist new or used. The Kayo is cheaper than pretty much anything I can find used, but there is not a ton of info out there about them.

Never heard of Kayo, but Pitster Pro has been importing some decent Chinese bikes for a while now. I don't personally know anyone who has ridden one, but I've seen some good reviews. This looks like a good trail cruiser.

I talked to a guy I know that owns a repair shop and that’s exactly what he said. He says that other than the electrical system that they aren’t bad bikes, but if something goes it’s a bitch to get parts. He also said to look at it as a disposable bike since he doesn’t think they’ll last much more than 5 years regular riding.

I decided up go take a look and ended up leaving with a KLX 230 instead. Pretty much exactly what I’m looking for, plus I can use it for my 5 mile daily commute. I got a little lucky as I got there about 30 minutes after it was delivered and they didn’t try to screw me with ridiculous freight and and setup charges.
