Awesome ride Franz, but what’s up with the handle bars? They can’t be original, can they? A nice chrome beach bar would look perfect.
Thanks for the repeat. I missed it earlier.

Yes, the handle bars are "sub-optimal". I am still looking for a replacement, but I am rarely ever at home to actually do it.

My roomie just came home sporting her new/used bike. She asked if I would like to take it out. I jumped on and took it for a spin around the local twisty before she changed her mind. One fun frikin bike. No riding pics, though.

Coincidentally I just rode the 150 version of that as my first ride ever this last Sunday. I had been a passenger on a bike before, but never driver. I have a buddy with one of those and a cabin near Mt. Sherman. I did about 65 miles including riding up to the base parking spot at Sherman at about 10,000 feet or whatever. I had to negotiate some loose shale and gravel, it was pretty steep in my mind. Going up was no problem but I was pretty sketched going downhill.

But, as the thread implies, I am stoked. I've been riding bicycles since I could walk, but never had the opportunity with a bike small enough to feel comfortable. The same guy that let me ride his new (old) 150 this weekend wanted me to ride his 650 KLX last Summer, and I was like no fucking way.

    Great bike!

I'll be riding 500 miles, off the beaten path, each way for the 4th. Should be fun.

I like motorcycles, but people that like to talk about them obsessively are really weird. You hit the throttle, they speed up, some are louder than others, some are faster than others, whoopdedoo.

I don't have an AK (yet), and I was just making a point. Don't take it personally Francis.

i had wanted a triumph speed triple for years. then i saw the buell when i was in new hampshire last summer, went right to the dealer test rode one then bought one as soon as i got back to montana.

probably the most fun bike i have ever been on.

You can oversimplify anything and make its obsessed owners sound weird.

yeah, you are probably going to discover the joys of having a motorcycle that really stands out.

which mostly consist of the police knowing exactly who you are.

He was referencing a comment I made about guns. You know, cuz guns are equally as fun as doing 160 mph on a crotch rocket.
