How many hills did you hit this season?
While the backcountry season looks to be endless, and a great deal of resort skiing remains in places like Utah and Khalifohnia, for many of us the lift-served season is either over or nearly done. So a question: which maggots really "got around?" Who shelled out money to the highest number of resorts?
I got 10:
Jackson Hole
Grand Targhee
Alta
Snowbird
Solitude
Brighton
Alpental
Ajax
Aspen Highlands
Snowmass
(in the name of inflated dick-waving, we'll count sister mountains individually. So you Canuks can count Whistler/Blackcomb as two. And no, I never paid to ride snow king. Mine, unfortunately, does not go to eleven.)

I think that is probably my all time low as far as hills hit- but yet this season was also my all time high for days skied. Go figure

Do the 8 peaks of The Canyons count as 1 or 8? What about Square Top, Dutch's Drawer and other "out of bounds" peaks? In any event, it's only The Canyons and Snowbird. I try to get my money's worth out of my season's pass.
Edit to add: 27 days (10 on a torn meniscus which was done playing b-ball with my 10 year old daughter)Last edited by schindlerpiste; 04-07-2006 at 02:36 PM.

I'm getting pretty good at this skiing thing.

A mighty list if I do say so myself!
Probability is high that I'll add one of the asspen's here soon as well."It is not the result that counts! It is not the result but the spirit! Not what - but how. Not what has been attained - but at what price.

Caberfae is doing allright. As good as can be for Michigan. They had a decent season despite the major fluctuations in temps all season long. I guess the 'biling up there was shit most of the season.
I was talking with the general manager one morning after one of those college nights, and he told me of an altercation that went something like this.
Lifty: Please leave, you are too drunk to ski.
Drunk College kid: No
Lifty: Please.
DCK: No, starts swinging. Falls over
Lifty: Patrol, security to top of quad please.
DCK: still swinging and cursing.
Lifty, patrollers, security: Take this fucker down. They use Zip ties to cuff him temporarily. Sled him down. call police.
DCK: They were going to take him home at this point. Where it goes south.
Fuck You Police man, I paid to ski tonight, then starts fight with cop.
Drunk kid spits on the cop, punches him, then kicks out the window on the cop car. Stupid fuck ends up with 4 felony charges: Battery against lifty, assaulting a cop, damage to police property, and PI.
So is the life of caberfae peaks on college night.

Quality, quality and did I say quality?
Grand Targhee - 40+ days and counting down to the end that is just around the corner
Jackson Hole - 2 half days
I hope to make it down to Alta/Snowbird for a weekend after the Ghee closes next weekend. Not sure what the closing dates are for LCC though?
Trayc, you got plenty of time to get to Mammoth and they just set a record for the most recorded snowfall there. Should be plenty of windblown steeps there for awhile and watch out for my buddy FickleDave (non-mag but might soon become one).If you had a nickel for every nickel he has, you would have a lot of fuckin' nickels!
