(NSR) for the Rev, d-day's last ever Karl Malone post........

    Jazz are going to:
    1)retire his number tonight
2)unviel a statue outside the delta center, next to Stockton's
3)name a SLC street after him

not bad for a redneck from LooEEsiana.
    all he ever did was:
Selected in 1996 as one of the "50 Greatest Players in NBA History"

Two-time NBA Most Valuable Player (1996-97, 1998-99), one of only nine players in NBA history to win the Maurice Podoloff Trophy more than once

    Eleven-time All-NBA First Team selection

Three-time NBA All-Defensive First Team selection

Fourteen-time NBA All-Star selection who played in 12 games

Ranks second all-time in points scored with 36,374, behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387)
Holds the NBA record most consecutive seasons scoring 2,000 or more points

Tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (17) for most consecutive seasons scoring at least 20.0 points per game (
Scored a career-high 61 points, the most by a Jazz player since the franchise moved to Utah, against the Milwaukee Bucks on 1/27/90

Scored a Jazz playoff-record 50 points and grabbed 12 boards against the Seattle SuperSoncics on 4/22/00

Holds the NBA record for most seasons leading the league in free-throws made (7)
Ranks second all-time in field-goals made with 13,335 behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (15,837)

Ranks second all-time in minutes played at 53,479, trailing only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (57,446)

Ranks seventh all-time in rebounds, with 14,601

A member of the men's basketball "Dream Team" that won the gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and the 1996 Dream Team that won gold in Atlanta

    plus:
altered Isiah's mug forever putting an elbow to him requiring 40 stitches in his head.
bad boy my ass bring that weak shit inside in UT.

    knocked David Robinson out cold

teamed with "Diamond" Dallas Page and lost to Dennis Rodman & Hulk Hogan in a WWF match. (which is wildly ironical since when he autographed aposter for me in the late 80's he wrote "basketball not wrestling" on it)

Choked like a hung prisoner in a noose in 2 different NBA Finals.

Karl Malone, basketball has been bery bery gud to him.

Don't forget that he managed to speak in the third person more than anyone other than Ricky Henderson and Queen Victoria.

Sucks he could never win one.

and the fact he never even got within sniffing distance of one.

Is it bad that my sole reason for liking Malone is because he absolutely floored Isiah? A brain injury like he must have sustained perfectly explains how he ruined the Raptors, dismantled the CBA, and is now setting back the Knicks a good two decades. heh.

    I'm pretty used to that.
Just like you're used to the malone bashing.
Obviously I'd have to be pretty retarded to think that Karl Malone was anything but a great basketball player.

Somehow, I doubt they'll retire barry's number. They havn't yet. And he's in the hall of fame. And he left them with a bad taste in thier mouth.

    Fucking Fords.
    We've got a quarterback for sale.......Any takers?

edit for: I didn't realize so many people hated Isiah. Oh well, he is a shitty manager.

a shitty manager is someone that can't get a team to win, ala Elgin Baylor with the clippers or Wes Unseld with les bulles. But Isiah fucking bankrupted a league. The Knicks are in a situation right now that has absolutely no upside. Not only that, but there isn't even a silver lining for them. Not unless Marbury becomes "Starbury" again. heh.

I was living in a city that had a basketball team in the CBA. There was definitely enough local support, but it's hard to keep playing when the league goes out of buisness. I lost a lot of respect when he didn't seem to apologetic to the fans.

i don't think i've ever hated a player more than karl malone. through my dislike of him i have started to respect his ability much like a jedi respects a sith.

since we are somewhat on the subject, i might as well bring this up. how come the jazz have always (at least in my lifetime) been the gayest (in a homophobic way, naturally) team year in and year out? they've never had a player that was remotely likeable by anyone but republicans (very old ones, naturally).

Maybe it's just a coincidence , but it seems to me that since Malone left, the Jazz have become the whitest team in the NBA...nothing right/wrong with that, just something I've noticed.

Do you think, if we asked real nice like, Karl might come back just to bring a little diversity back here?

He was pretty good at "drawing" a foul from time to time...

I liked him though, when he and Stockton were playing...

Malone rules. You'd have to look pretty hard in any field to find people as dedicated to what they do as he was with basketball. He lived in the gym, never missed games. Truly loved the sport and the fans. No doubt he and Stock did all they could to bring a title to the Jazz. You win some, you lose some.

Once Stock retired and it became clear the Lakers were defunct I sort of wished Karl would go to a team where he could be the leading scorer for another season or two to take the all-time scoring title.

Too bad him and Stockton didn't play for the Nuggets.

I agree with what you say about Malone, but I don't think he is on the level of say... John Elway.

...although they both own car dealerships now.......

I guess what I'm saying is, will he be to Salt Lake and Utah what John Elway is to Denver and Colorado?

I have hated Karl forever. I can admit that he could play although he threw a lot of serious elbows. I remember when he retired Fox13 news ran a montage of highlights from his career. It was just him elbowing the shit out of other players. Pretty hilarious.

    Ok frakshow.
I know your lifetimeis fairly recent, but come on
    John Stockton?
how can you not like stockton? gritty, undersized dedicated. players player and from your neck of the woods!

Karl Malone, redneck, sure but great player, why you gotta hate?

Byron Russel, forever famous for getting pushed off right before...

    and currently we have:
the worst haircut in the NBA, the long arms of the russian mob, AK-47, the stat sheet filla, Andrei Kirilenko!
One of the league leaders in blocks and he's a forward.

Carlos Boozer, HIS LAST NAME IS BOOZER..........

    ........and woodsy takes the bait.

john stockton? was there ever a more homosexual trend setting player? and he's not from my neck of the woods. he played at gonzaga. home of crying little bitches, and arch rivals to my u-dubb huskies. hate, hate, hate.

and if byron russell is your third best player, your team is not very good. on top of being supremely lame, he's supremely lame.

i can't diss on ak-47 too much (aside from the fact that he's on the jazz and that in itself is pretty lame) because his wife will let him cheat on her.

and don't fuck wit da sonics son! you can't forget drunk driving wife beating dale 'three point' ellis. waddabout slick watts and his famous headband. he still does local charities with that damn thing on. and i heard he still puts down the game on the ladies 1/4 of his age. and how about x-man xavier mcdaniels. i think he beat his wife too. and don't forget about one of the best white guys in the last 20 years in tom chambers. that white boy could get up and throw it down! oh yeah! sam perkins? that muthafucka played with mj at chapel hill, still lives in seattle, and smokes a shit-ton of weed. and you utah fans have the ak-47 but we were the first team with a strap and we had a mac-10 in nate macmillan. and nobody could fuck wit shawn kemp in his prime. that fool was the juggernaut bitch. you couldn't harm him. too bad they had to play the bulls in the finals. but you jazz fans know all about that.

and never. i said never. talk smack about gp. cause imma kill 'em imma rape 'em imma eat his mutha fucking costume just wait. you can't harm me are you a fucking ass? do you not know who i am? he must not know who i am. i'm the juggernaut bitch. imma hit you with your own pimp. i'm bad. i'm the baddest mutherfucka in the whole world. have you eva seen a costume like mine.

edit: having booze in your name doesn't make you any less of a jazz.
