Ours came from the humane society in Colorado Springs, so probably not. But I guess we really have no idea what he did for the first ~10 months of his life. Other than I'm pretty sure he ate everything that would fit in his mouth, and he fought some cats.

Fwiw, my pup was severely underweight when he was surrendered to the rescue at 3 months. I got him at 4 months and he was still skinny enough to see ribs, hips and spine, but not as bad as Ruby. I don't know I could stomach what he would have looked like a month prior. Now he's an 80# goober.

I visited here too soon.
Ruby quit eating and drinking on her own last week and we've been force feeding her every hour pretty much around the clock since. She took a huge turn for the worse this morning and it's clearly time and my wife is taking her in. I am so fucking wrecked I dont know if I can go back into work. She deserved better. I am done fostering dogs this too goddamned hard....Bunny Don't Surf

starvation causes some physiologic changes that may not be reversible - even given dramatically / significantly improved care...
