Anyone know shit about Lightning Boards?

Found these skis during my break between downloading porn.

Never heard of these sticks before. Anyone ever try them? They look purrrty, but the website says that they are "Sweet in powder, soft snow, resorts and the backcountry" (i.e. they might be noodly).

If these are anywhere near as stiff as the Igs I'll definitely wanna check these out.

I believe that they have all wood edges. Sounds like they should definitively rip the hardpack. I don't know if boards that are only 16ft long would really have enough edgehold for me.

Some of them do look pretty sick though

I saw a pair on E-bay awhile back and called the guy. Older guy and knew the guys from Goode before what's his head left. SLC area. He takes newer skis and quite literally traces the shapes and hand build them. He was all out of steel edged skis when I talked to him a few weeks ago otherwise I would have tried them. The lignostone edges (laminated beach and epoxy) are fairly durable but would not hold up on the rocks I ski. Edges are about 3/16" square lignostone. He did have some steel edged skis early in the year but they sold. He did say his ptex was from K2 4000 electra which did not thrill me as I'm pretty hard on K2's. Sounds like he's done some prototype stuff for several people in the past and was working on a reverse camber Goode copy. Seem like a decent 'older' fellow and we had a 30 minute conversation. No metal cores but fairly solid wood contruction so I'd assume a fairly medium wood type flex.

Thanks for the info. That's where I saw these skis and had me wondering. If it had steel edges I'd definitely check them out. Otherwise these won't stand a chance against Kirkweed's base- and edge-eating lava rock.

I just ordered some today, Nice Dad's in a 177. I will hopefully get on them this weekend. For the price, the skis are just to pretty. Worse case, they will make some great furniture. I will post a review when I get out on them.

I just got mine. I am debating if I want to mount them or not. Someone asked about the stiffness, they are stiff but I cannot see these holing up to amy kind of abuse.
