    IM 88's kick serious ass

Got out last weekend on my new IM88's (186) w/ Mojo 15's and they rock. Unfortunately, there wasn't much to be had in the deep snow department. This ski absolutely tore apart the groomers though. The sidecut and stiffness is amazing. Very lively and super responsive.

That said, I can't really answer your question since I haven't skied the IM85's.
I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

    Oh, my Head iM88,
The ski for me is the ski for you,
If you don't think it's great,
    Then I have to say, "F U".

    And to my Head iM85,
I am sure you're a great ski too,
Damp and stable yet also alive,
I am sure no more iM blue.

Those are the best verses I've got, sorry.

I have the 85s mounted with Naxos - I have mostly skied them BC in fluffy (no hardpack) and they are nice. They float great (big shovel) and are super stable at high speeds. They are stiff and heavy but they don't torpedo and they stay on top of everything. I am realizing now I should have gone with something with a little less sidecut for BC skis but judging by what these skis have done on windslab and their dampness, I would wager they rail on the groomers. I am not sure how different they are from the 88s except for the wider waist (but I could be wrong about this).

They might be kinda heavy for BC touring, but the 88's seem pretty light on lift accessed terrain. At least compared to my old black/orange scratch BC's. I agree about the huge shovel, it's definetely an asset.

If the 88s are ligher than Scratch BCs then we are definitely talking about a different animal than the 85s

Glacier Ski Shop has the 88s for rent. I hear they aren't quite as stiff as the 85s.
    You going up this weekend?
In drove this drunken madman and stopped on a dime! Unfortunately the dime was in Mr. Rococo's pocket!
