damn boys... you know that really brought a tear to my eye. You see, that stuff you some of you think made a nice avatar also spelled the end of a peaceful existence in paradise for yours truly.

it was four am on April two 2004 and I had fallen asleep with my drum in hand when they came through the doors and threw me into the snowy entry way in my underwear. the powder had finally returned, i learned. i wasn't worried about being in the middle of a huge bust (big insecure bullet-proof vest clad imbeciles spread muddy bad vibrations all over my carpet in the silently succeeding early light) because I was not a drug dealer, and in fact was too broke to have anything of my own to smoke.. I sort of waited for the tempest to pass, so to speak. Then they just started parading my friends out into the lobby, too. We were all frozen, and the storm had just begun.

I ended up spending time living in a cave until my charges were dropped and I was able to go home, starved and with all love and trust for any fellow man extracted in ways that just to this day have yet to heal.

Turned out one of the dreamless insect-eyed terrorists from the Utah State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) thougth he'd seen me smoke weed with him before, but the warrant they brought me in on wasn't even written out for me OR my room.

They show 5 small bags,3 of shrooms,2 of weed & say 2 pounds were confiscated.Theses guys should be doing accounting for Arthur Anderson or the Bush Admin.I liked the washingtons in front as well.I met an Alta Marshall on the hike up Baldy once,he was a f*cking gerbil herding, a** spelunking ,dipsh*t .There are very few people I would wish bad things upon,but that guy is one of them!

I love how this 3 month long, special task force investigation netted them this minute amount of illicit substances. I'm sure the street value of this bust isn't anywhere near the amount of money and man-hours they poured into this investigation. I just wish law enforcement would put this much effort into something a bit more constructive. SBI, Alta Town Marshalls, and any other law enforcement agency that that thinks busting people for pot and mushrooms is going to make a difference......

I stayed overnight in the Fort last year right around Christmas time. I had a blast- it reminded me of being in my freshman dorm at UVM. Drugs, tight quarters, and lots odors from body, equipment, and rec. drugs. The main difference from dorms vs the Fort was looking out the window and seeing Alta under a full moon.
Too bad about the bust.
