    Damn, Milwaukee is a tough place to be a skier.
    Where do you go? Little Switz, Crystal? The big trip up to tha UP or Lutsen?
    Last time I was in town I stopped at Laacke and Joys to see what the ski dept was all about. I wound up talking to this UWM kid who had a bunch of park rat buddies who made movies and did great road trips, they were trying to put on comps and do roadside stuff. It's cool that in a place with no damn mountains there is a gang of kids who are just as thrilled about this stuff as folks who live in their dream local.

    Im from Cedarburg , north of Miltown about 25 miles. Grew up skiing and racing at Switz, Sunburst with the occasional trip to the freezing north. Glad I grew up there because I havent taken one angrateful glance at a mountain since Ive moved away. Miss the lake and the down to earth, grounded people.

    Whitecap, Big Powderhorn, Indianhead, the Porkies, Mt. Ripley, Cliff's Ridge, Pine Mountain.

    Defunct: Greenbush, Norski Ridge, Wintergreen and some little places up by Sheboygan/Manitowoc.

    Left long ago. Never went back.
