    AT Question

Putting together my 1st AT setup this winter. Anyone have some experience with this set up or something close to it?

Due to $$$ issues, I'm going with what I've currently got available in the quiver: 190 Iggy MFC (250 Flex) w/Freerides (yellow and grey). I'm sure I'll be suffering uphill due to the weight.

Question is boots: What's the lightest weight boot I could go with to drive this setup? Don't want to add anymore weight than necessary. Was figuring whichever of Denali/Adrenaline fit me best would be the way to go. Would Megas cut it? G-Rides? Dynafits?

Other option is to mount up some old 191 Bandit XX's, but I'd rather keep those tele. I'd freeheel it in the BC, but I don't trust my tele-steeze enough in certain situations. Third set of holes for both skis either way.

Believe it or not most four buckle AT boots don't weigh much less than alpine boots, and that I think is the way to go unless you do a lot of long touring for extended periods and might want a lighter three buckle boot. I've been skiing Denali's for a few years and use one set up for resort and bc, although I have a pair of explosives for resort skiing if that's all i'm going to do. I think you'll find the uphill is not going to be as hard as you think and a four buckle boot AT doesn't give up much in comparison to an alpine boot, but you still have to compensate for it a bit but it's pretty amazing how responsive they are. good luck
