2025 PGA and other non-LIV golf

well we're a week into PGA season and that Rory-Tiger simulator league thing tees off tonight so its high time we have a thread. Matsuyama went thermonuclear on the field last week. should be a strong year for him. Scheffler should be fully recovered from his "Christmas dinner cooking" hand injury in a few weeks and will be back to his regular criminal activity.

i'm gonna tune in to the TGL simulator thing for a few minutes. it will probably suck but hearing tour pros talk shit and shoot the breeze should be somewhat interesting.

hopefully this is LIV's last year of existence. fuck em.

fuck patrick reed i hope he misses every cut.

gotta love golfs hypocrisy. few years ago the pga was all high and mighty not partnering with the saudis, telling lefty to not let the door hit him on the way out over his financial issues. today, the pga is setup for the top players to make more money than evr and keep new players down, welcome liv players back and created arena golf almost exclusive to top players to get new tv and ticket holder money.

i still watch golf, but dont tell anyone youre better than they are golf; youre not and youre all about the money and propping up the starts just like every other pro league.

I love that starting on January 1, we start to see commercials for The Masters, and images of warm spring days and blooming azaleas fill my head.

I tuned into the TGL thing for about 5 minutes last night and I have to admit the venue is a really cool thing - hitting off natural grass, the tech that goes into it, the sheer size of it doesn't make it feel like a crappy garage simulator, and the rotating, changing contours green is pretty fascinating as well. Without giving it more time than I already had I like it better than anything LIV has to offer simply because its so different.

Will I tune in regularly? Probably not.

    See you in Augusta.

The TGL venue is awesome, especially the rotating green that can be manipulated with all of the hydraulics. I think it would be pretty fun to attend one of these in person, but for television I'll have it on in the background at most unless it's a close battle at the end. I like that they're trying different things, however.

I’d rather watch replays of Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf than modern men’s professional golf.
